Did you think we forgot about Vireio Perception?  NOT!

Long overdue, the latest build of Vireio Perception will be released on July 4, 2014 at 8:00PM EDT.  In addition to some creative new features and more games supported, we’ve taken some exciting steps for the Vireio community as well.

If you haven’t done so already, be sure to follow our new Vireio Perception Twitter feed for the latest.  As long as you’re at it, be sure to follow MTBS’ Twitter as well!

For those unfamiliar, Vireio Perception are VR drivers that let you take existing games, and play them with modern VR drivers like the Oculus Rift.  They are free and open source.

Any chance of seeing a VRBoost profile applicable to Portal 2? The support was so *almost there* it would have been PERFECT with VRBoost. The huge downside of having to recenter your own pitch (match between head position and mouse position) is almost a deal breaker – not quite but almost.

This is one I’d replay if it were even better adapted. Same goes for Portal and I should mention both FlyingWildHog’s games: Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset…. I had a go at Shadow Warrior using Tridef’s support and oddly I was satisfied…. I can only imagine how much better it would run with VRBoost.

Having had a chance to try Skyrim with VRB I can safely say this is the closest a third party implementation has gotten to a native implementation!
