Vireio Perception with Cyberith and Dirt 3

By January 31, 2014March 24th, 2020News

Shame on us all!  We discovered the same day this video was released that the rendering of Dirt 3 with Vireio Perception was completely wrong.  It’s not even being rendered in stereoscopic 3D!  We will restore our VR honor soon enough! ;=)

We still don’t have an exact day for you yet, but we’ve been making a lot of improvements and fixing tons of bugs for the next release of Vireio Perception.  Of course, game support is significantly improved as well with upgraded VRBoost profiles (that are more likely to work), and several new game additions.

There may be further improvements still, but the above video is from Dirt 3 using VRBoost.  Why are we showing Dirt 3?  Because you can get this game practically for free with the Humble Bundle.  So grab those racing gloves while you still can!

Also, special congratulations go out to the Cyberith Virtualizer team!

They obviously have an exciting mix going on with their new VR walking platform, Wii Motes, and Oculus Rift.  There is no doubt now because they updated their YouTube description, but their Skyrim demo is 100% based on Vireio Perception 2.X.  We don’t know why his demo has been mistakenly credited to other VR drivers by other websites; it’s very obvious that it’s Vireio Perception.  You can easily tell because of the high field of view, true stereoscopic 3D mode, and scaled sizing for screen objects.  I suppose if Skyrim was released as a native VR game, that would be a contender worthy of being confused with…but come on!
