Last week, we shared a riddle about a game we were seriously struggling with. This game had a whopping 1,700+ shaders! To put this in perspective, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim only had 450. The mystery game is Bioshock, and we finally got it working!
Finding the right shaders was the least of our worries. We had problems where reflections were appearing in all the wrong places, elements were displayed in just one eye instead of both, and there was something off that we just couldn’t put our finger on. It may have been evil spirits; we aren’t sure. Oh yeah, we also had to come up with another new technique for resizing the HUD so it’s readable by fellow Oculus Rift users. If the video settings aren’t to your liking, don’t worry – plenty of room to customize!
Special thanks goes out to our miracle developer Denis Reischl who continues to innovate on a daily basis to help make Vireio Perception 2.0 a reality. While Bioshock looks pretty cool (and is even better when adjusted for your personal IPD), this is all baby stuff compared to what is coming down the pipe, so stay tuned!
