GDC, Torque 3D, Game For Charity!

Some cool updates today!  First, Kris Roberts has completed his coverage of GDC 2013 with a summary of the exhibit floor.

Pictured above is none other than Alan Price, CTO of Grantoo and President of The S-3D Gaming Alliance.  While we didn’t get a chance to feature him in the article, we want to pass on our kudos because they are doing something very innovative with video games.  Imagine playing games to make the world a better place!  Seriously!  The more you game, the more money you make for charities and positive causes around the world.  We are wondering if there could be a VR angle to this some day.  Game developers are encouraged to check out their SDK and see what they can do to make a difference!

Finally, long time lurker David Wyand, Head of Torque 3D Development at GarageGames, has revealed Oculus support in their open source game engine.  You can learn more in our forums, and participate with the open source development.  They even have a Rift demo game ready called – you guessed it…”Rift Valley“.  Have fun!
