A few days ago, we received word of a 3D gallery service that offers a plug-in for adding 3D support to WordPress websites. This means you can have inline images in articles right away, and not have to download pictures in advance before viewing in 3D. While this is very cool, it’s a crying shame that it’s limited to just Nvidia 3D Vision glasses and an impractical side by side format. There are all kinds of 3D displays on the market that need equal 3D support, so we decided to develop something that is more diversified.
Thanks to Kirill Gavrilov and sView, MTBS has a new plug-in that lets us include 3D images inline with article text, and we equally support AMD HD3D, Nvidia 3D Vision, interlaced, side by side, and more. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera are all well supported. Internet Explorer and mobile users have fewer options, but images should still work in anaglyph, interlaced, and 2D modes in most cases. Nvidia 3D Vision and AMD HD3D users will need to toggle full screen viewing to see the 3D images properly, but it’s a minor inconvenience until better coding is available.
