You heard it here first! Since 2007, right about the time that MTBS was founded, iZ3D earned a reputation as being a key innovator in the realm of stereoscopic 3D driver development. Theirs was the first to offer full post processing support in DX9 games, and they also introduced some innovative features like dominant eye crosshairs, instant game profiling, and snappy performance on both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. Their drivers also work with DX10 and DX11 games. Their most recent work involved full LCD shutter glasses support on both AMD and Nvidia platforms.
According to Vadim Asadov, iZ3D’s VP of Business Development, their stereoscopic 3D drivers will be made available as open source for gamers looking to adjust and optimize for new games and future technologies. The resulting software will be free to use by everyone, and should be available in about eight weeks.
The full announcement is expected shortly on iZ3D’s website.
