MTBS’ New 3D Gallery!

While MTBS’ gallery has over four thousand pictures and images, it’s too cumbersome to have to download pictures before viewing in 3D.  There are a few 3D galleries on the web that don’t require this step, but they are usually limited to just one brand or solution.  MTBS is here for everyone, which is why we haven’t had a working solution…until now.

Attached is an alpha version of sView which is making its first appearance here. As a 3D image viewer, it supports all the major solutions in the market including AMD’s HD3D, Nvidia 3D Vision, interlaced, DLP, dual-output (projectors), anaglyph, and more.  Combined with some fancy gallery programming, MTBS visitors will be able to view gallery 3D images inline without having to download in advance.  Special thanks to Kirill Gavrilov for his creative programming work!

When visiting MTBS’ gallery, there is now a stereo 3D viewing button. If your solution is capable of it, all 3D images will appear inline with the gallery, and it is no longer necessary to download pictures before viewing them. If you are using Nvidia or AMD HD3D compliant shutter glasses, just click the full screen toggle button, and you will be able to instantly see the images in 3D without extra downloading steps.  If Nvidia and AMD know of a way to get MTBS’ 3D images gallery to work inline with their shutter glasses technique(s), we are happy to implement it.

You can select your display technology by choosing “3D Stereo” in the gallery, going into fullscreen mode within the sView application, and choosing the correct display output. Once this is set, there is no need to repeat the process each time. In fact, the gallery will remember your settings as you go from one picture to the next!

The only limitation in getting this plugin to work is you must be using Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Opera – Internet Explorer isn’t an option yet.

This updated gallery software is very easy to use, and while members have always been encouraged to use the gallery for image sharing in the forums, we are entertaining the idea of giving members the ability to create their own albums for photo sharing in a more organized manner.
