Discovery 2011 begins on Wednesday, and The S-3D Gaming Alliance is excited to inform you of some of the equipment and demos we have prepared. There will be two PCs running Nvidia and DDD software running on shutter glasses and polarized solutions. We are also running a 27″ Acer 1080P screen with Sony PS3 and Move!. Big Blue Bubble is also going to be demonstrating some mobile 3D gaming content that has never been shown before on a glasses-free 3D display. Finally, Nvidia is sending over a 3D notebook computer too! So, if Discovery visitors have never sampled 3D gaming before, they are in for a lot of fun!
Speaking of Nvidia, they released their 275.27 Beta drivers today, and separate from additional GPU support, they have a few interesting feature additions. On the traditional gaming side, Nvidia’s drivers now feature regularly updated SLI and AA profiles. The idea is that instead of having to download an entire driver every time a game profile is added, the software automatically updates the profiles that need updating without extra effort on the part of the gamer. It isn’t active yet, but Nvidia plans to offer a similar service for their 3DVision game profiles in a future driver update.
New and improved 3D VIsion profiles include Age of Empires Online, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Battlefield Play4Free, Duke Nukem Forever, Dungeon Siege III, Super Street Fighter IV, World of Tanks, Portal 2, and The Witcher 2.
