
Crysis 2 in 3D on PlayStation 3
Since 2007, the Crysis franchise has been the staple for testing graphics processing power and driving electricity bills through the roof. Always aiming to push as many polygons through as legally possible, Crytek has earned a name for itself as a graphics innovator, and dates back to the original Far Cry in 2004.
Crysis 2 aims to continue the tradition, this time supporting both console and PC platforms with the added bonus of native stereoscopic 3D support! Today, we review Crysis 2 in stereoscopic 3D on both PC and PlayStation 3.
For the patiently waiting Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision users out there, Nvidia has finally released the WHQL version of their 270.61 GeForce drivers which also include GeForce 3D Vision support. Notable improvements for stereoscopic 3D gamers includes:
- Support for new 3D Vision Desktop LCD monitors: Tongfang LM2230W
- Support for new 3D Vision projectors: Acer X1261P, Acer X1261-3D, DepthQ HDs3D-1, NEC NP-V300X, Sanyo PDG-DXL2000
- Support for new 3D Vision All In One PCs: Acer Aspire Z5673, Lenovo B520
- Several new game profiles (e.g. Crysis 2, Dead Space 2, Dirt 3, etc.)
- Performance improvements in DirectX 9 with SLI
