This year, the Ontario Centres of Excellence Discovery will be having a special focus on stereoscopic 3D entertainment and gaming. Partners include The Ontario Centres of Excellence, Film Ontario, The S-3D Gaming Alliance, and 3D FLIC.
The lead gaming presentation is being done by David Coombes, Platform Research Manager for Sony Computer Entertainment America. This will be followed by a 3D gaming panel moderated by Neil Schneider, Executive Director of The S-3D Gaming Alliance.

Other 3D talks at the conference will focus on 2D to 3D conversion, 3D broadcasting and film, stereoscopic 3D safety, and more! The S-3D Gaming Alliance is also planning to have a 3D demonstration table to show several technologies on the market, and where possible, things we may have to look forward to in the near future.
For those unfamiliar, OCE Discovery is Canada’s leading innovation-to-commercialization conference. Hosted by the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), Discovery brings together key players from industry, academia, government, the investment community as well as entrepreneurs and students to pursue collaboration opportunities. Last year’s keynote was Steve Wozniak of Apple fame.
