Crysis 2 Screenshots, U-Decide 2010 Preliminary Findings

We have a double treat for you today.  First, here are some exclusive screenshots we got at GDC Online from Crytek's upcoming Crysis 2 in 3D.

All these images were captured with a stereoscopic 3D camera on a JVC HDTV, so if they are a bit blury, it couldn't be helped.  This is a "pre-alpha" version of Crysis 2, so it does not necessarily reflect what the full version will look like.

Crytek confirmed that their technique is similar to 2D+Depth, but it is a bit more elaborate.  Time will tell what Crytek plans for PC displays, but as it stands, console will not have full left/full right camera rendering to prevent performance loss in stereoscopic 3D mode.  However, for depth based 3D rendering, it went over well with the audience.

Now!  The second treat is the first part of the U-Decide Initaitive's preliminary results are out.  Today, we talk about gamer plans to buy 3D HDTVs, how 3D will impact their game buying plans, and those dang 3D glasses!

If readers want to spread these Crysis 2 and U-Decide Initiative images around, please feel free to do so.  All we ask is that you credit the source.
