Hack to Share Screen Between 2D & 3D Viewers

Our good friends at 3DVision-blog have developed a 2D hack for Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision glasses.  Be warned that this will most likely void your warranty, but it's an interesting idea.

Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision Glasses Hack

The idea is this.  One of the challenges behind 3D screens is that they are either in 2D mode or 3D mode - not both.  So if there are people in the room who want to watch in 2D (maybe they can't see in 3D), a doubled screen image will be a problem for them.  This hack allows the glasses to show only the left or right sided image, so the 3D viewers get their 3D experience, and the 2D viewers get their 2D experience.

While this hack doesn't have the required software backing, this opens the door to have a single screen shared between multiple 2D players.  Very interesting!  Congrats on the hack, Anton...though don't let Nvidia see the cruel things you did to their glasses.  Perhaps we should launch The SPCA3DG (The Society For The Prevention of Cruelty Against 3D Glasses)?
