Meant to be Seen Launches GameGrade3D and Celebrates 5th Birthday

Toronto, Ontario (March 7th, 2012) – Founded in March, 2007, Meant to be Seen (mtbs3D.com), the world's first and only stereoscopic 3D Certification and Advocacy group is celebrating its fifth year in operation this month. To celebrate, the group is launching a 3D game readiness service GameGrade3D, a brand new MTBS website design, and a major prize giveaway. Two field writers from MTBS will also be onsite at the 2012 Game Developers Conference. Contact us to schedule coverage of products for stereoscopic 3D gamers during the show.

MTBS' Birthday Bonanza Contest
"Happy Birthday MTBS! Congratulations on the implementation of GameGrade3D. DDD's TriDef 3D supports 3D gaming on consumer electronic devices from the world's leading brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, Intel, AMD and more. We know gamers rate GG3D highly, and journalists can easily follow the results. It's a real benefit to the 3D gaming marketplace, and demonstrates MTBS' ongoing commitment to advocating good 3D in video games." - Chris Yewdall, CEO of Dynamic Digital Depth.

Game Grade3D

GameGrade3D (GG3D) is a community driven database of PC video games and their compatibility with the leading stereoscopic 3D technologies like AMD HD3D, Dynamic Digital Depth's TriDef Ignition, and Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision drivers. Each GG3D submission includes tested hardware and software information, required game settings for best results, visual flexibility in 3D mode, and remaining errors. To make debugging easier, the service also lets gamers attach 3D screenshots to help demonstrate positive and negative results with their games.

With a fixed scoring mechanism, GameGrade3D has already amassed over 400 game submissions during its beta phase - all made possible by passionate stereoscopic 3D gamers.

"GameGrade3D is an independent service that focuses on 3D readiness without marketing influence. It's a great tool for journalists, game developers, and consumers looking for an accurate way of recording and finding quality recommendations in S-3D PC gaming. While it hasn't been endorsed by all industry players, it has been well received by press and gamers alike as a useful service. In fact, its tagline is 'it isn't 3D Ready until gamers say it is'," explained Neil Schneider, CEO of Meant to be Seen.

Enter the Birthday Bonanza Contest

To celebrate its fifth birthday, Meant to be Seen has launched "MTBS’ Birthday Bonanza" contest. Top prizes include a Sony 24" 3D PS3 display with game pack, Sapphire AMD 7950 GPU with TriDef 3D drivers and game pack, and dozens of PS3, PC and mobile games by Big Blue Bubble, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Electronic Arts. There is also a big bonus prize from Nintendo, which will be revealed at the end of the contest.

To qualify for the draw, gamers just have to register on mtbs3D.com with accurate information. Several bonus draws will be awarded to gamers sharing reviews of their favorite titles and why their games should be released in 3D. Entries will also be awarded for GameGrade3D submissions, 3D movie & Blu-ray reviews, and much more. No special skills are needed to enter.
