MTBS' 3D Game Analyzer (M3GA) Launches With 100 Games Tested in 3D

Customers Grade Stereoscopic 3D Games for Compatibility and Quality of Play

Toronto, Ontario (June 14, 2010) – Meant to be Seen (MTBS), the world's first and only stereoscopic 3D Certification and Advocacy group with the help of gamers around the world, has launched the MTBS 3D Game Analyzer (M3GA) today.  M3GA is a PC video game database that will inform consumers about how to play their favorite game titles on nearly all the available 3D solutions.

“Based on game developer feedback, the potential behind this is huge.  We plan to submit the scoring and mechanism to S3DGA, and leave it to the gaming industry to jointly define the quality expectations and ratify them for official use.   Customers want marketing-free game testing, and M3GA was the first logical step,” said Neil Schneider, President of Meant to be Seen and Executive Director of The S-3D Gaming Alliance.

In PC gaming, there are several stereoscopic 3D solutions that are based on DDD, iZ3D, and NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision software drivers.  While vendors are proud of compatibility statements as high as 400+ games, these expectations are hard to confirm, they are not publicly defined, and there is little to no consistency between games and driver solutions.

Through a website, gamers submit a title by sharing details about the hardware and software they use, and then answer a series of multiple choice questions about the game and how it behaves in stereoscopic 3D.  M3GA then takes this information, and creates both a numeric score and a certification grade.  The end result is a growing database of games that have been tested on DDD, iZ3D, and NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision drivers complete with recommended game settings, consistent rules and visual expectations, and a customer driven stamp of approval.

The software that drives M3GA was written and designed by Neil Schneider, Vadim Krivosheyev, Yuriy Nikshych, and Cris Villalobos.

Gamers, media, and game developers are encouraged to visit the MTBS’ 3D Game Analyzer at http://www.mtbs3d.com/m3ga.

About Meant to be Seen (MTBS)

Independently run, MTBS represents the interests of end consumers and providers of stereoscopic 3D solutions.  Founded in March of 2007, Meant to be Seen has been pioneering stereoscopic 3D gaming for years, and has become the most comprehensive 3D gaming website to date.  mtbs3D.com features discussion forums, game reviews, interviews, in-depth coverage of the leading names in the industry (e.g. DDD, iZ3D, NVIDIA, Sony, etc.), and much, much more.

MTBS is the consumer arm of the non-profit S-3D Gaming Alliance, the official voice and standards body for stereoscopic 3D gaming.

Game developers, driver developers, and technology enablers wishing to join a steering team to help define and ratify quality expectations for the stereoscopic 3D gaming industry are encouraged to visit http://www.s3dga.com and submit an inquiry.
