Advocacy Incentive Winners Announced!

Hello everyone!

A few months ago, we launched an incentive to award members who went above and beyond with our MTBS advocacy efforts. While our advocacy is not reward motivated, we thought we?d give this a try to add some fun to the site.

Denaris is the clear winner of the iZ3D 22" top prize with 588 points, and he surpassed the 500 points needed to qualify. While they didn?t qualify for our listed prizes, we have awarded Freke and RugWarrior 30% discounts on their next iZ3D purchase in recognition of their hard work.

I think there was a disconnect between our advocacy program and our incentive program. Members would be happy to discuss MTBS certification and S-3D on game developer sites and forums, but the incentive program participation was relatively low.

This was the first time we tried something like this, so I would value any feedback you have on the program. I?d like to hear what worked and what would work better. Did you know about the program? Did you like the incentives? What incentives would work better? Do you have some new ideas on adding some excitement to our advocacy efforts?

Please post all your feedback and ideas here.

Caveats of Game Developer Responses

Hello everyone!

Denaris, one of our valued advocates, has been contacting game developers to inquire about some of his favorite games and MTBS certification. You can read the posted results in our discussion forums here.

I?m going to blog this at a later time, but I want to point out that the game developers who said "we are not MTBS certified" or that their games don’t work in S-3D do NOT know what they are talking about. I have not been in touch with the actual people who said this, and this is not at all an indication of whether or not their game will work in S-3D with the NVIDIA and/or iZ3D drivers.

This was very much an uninformed answer on the part of certain game developers, and I recommend you use your fellow members as a credible judgment call on S-3D compatibility until the game developers ASK about MTBS certification before they TELL about MTBS certification. As video game customers, you have a right to be accurately informed by the developers.

On a positive note, great work Denaris! I hope other members submit similar questions about their favorite games to game developers. This is how they learn about the things you want in their video games.

MTBS Blog Published In Newsletter, MTBS Interviews CEO of In-Three Inc.!

Hello everyone!

I know it?s been awhile since my last blog and news bit, so I hope today makes up for it.

First, Veritus et Visus, a leading publishing company focused on industry level newsletters about the display industry paid me the greatest compliment one could ask for. They published one of my blogs in the current issue of 3rd Dimension!

You can read it for free here, and you are encouraged to buy their publication for the latest news in the stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) industry.

Second, we have a special interview with Mr. David Seigle, the President and CEO of In-Three Inc. In-Three is the leader in 2D to 3D movie conversion, and he gives us the inside scoop on what their company does and how they do it. He is going to be speaking at 3D Biz-Ex next week, and you can read his interview in the MTBS BLOG section.

I?m going to be speaking at 3D Biz-Ex as well, and I?m looking forward to some face to face meetings with some of the movers and shakers in the industry. Remember, all MTBS members qualify for a 20% discount on registration, and you can learn more in the Member Discounts category of the Member Benefits section.
