New DLP 3D HDTV's
Does anybody have the new DLP 3D HDTV's? I found these and am considering buying one:

http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/j/i/18326/ ... l?cid=5470
Both are 3D ready and utilize Tridef software and DLP 3D glasses. Samsung even has LED light engine.
The technology sounds really cool.

Re: New DLP 3D HDTV's
Hi Dowjd, I have used a Samsung HL-T 6187 for about 7 months and really like it. Excellent image quality, bright, ghost and flicker free. Colors can be a little washed out but can be tweaked using digital vibrance and gamma increases. The biggest drawback right now is game support. I like the TriDef software, but it lacks broad game support. You can't just pop in any game and experiment like you can with other drivers. Hopefully that will change soon. Try using the search engine on the main forum page and search for DLP3D or Tridef. Lots of info here!Dowjd wrote:Does anybody have the new DLP 3D HDTV's? I found these and am considering buying one:

FWIW, Samsung had announced their 2008 DLP TV models. Look like only minor updates from the 2007 models.

(They are not immediately available; but anyone who is thinking of getting the 2007 models now should be aware of what is coming in a few months ...)

Sweet isn't it?CraziFuzzy wrote:I'm using my Samsung HL-T6189S for 3D games, and am very impressed. It does work with the nvidia drivers, with a registry tweak, which is available on these forums. I have seen zero ghosting, and zero flicker. The 3D effect is really good.

Are you using 7900GTX with the patch?

I can't find any information on the 3D aspect of this T.V.
Do you have a link, by any chance?CraziFuzzy wrote:I'm using my Samsung HL-T6189S for 3D games, and am very impressed. It does work with the nvidia drivers, with a registry tweak, which is available on these forums. I have seen zero ghosting, and zero flicker. The 3D effect is really good.

Sorry about that, forgot to go back and add it (like I had planned). Here it is... NVidia Stereo3D DLP Checkerboard Reg Tweak, To use, you ahve to set up the nvidia drivers for interleaved mode (SeeReel or something like that). Then, after closing the nvidia control panel, you load up the regtweak. The problem currently, is that the nvidia control panel resets the registry, so whenever you go into the panel, you have to run the registry patch again.Mel wrote:Do you have a link, by any chance?CraziFuzzy wrote:I'm using my Samsung HL-T6189S for 3D games, and am very impressed. Thanks for the info...
...I was hoping for a link that discusses the technology used by the T.V., as well as where to buy any accessories needed to use the 3D functionality.

What else should they do? The DLP TV is just like every CRT, but without ghosting and with 120hz --> 60hz per eye in a quite good resolution and size.Abydos wrote:I might get one of these! But do the new dlp glasses maintain the refresh rate, not halve them like the crts?
Thanks.

no luck really. I've tried the most of the drivers available with no such luck. the patch that is available is a no go also. I bought the drivers for battlefield 2142 but it doesn't support 1920 x 1080 resolution. with scaling off the pictureb is just tiled in the center and and it won't scale up. the game also locks up everytime I try to load the map. I eventually gave up.
