Still looking for a decently priced HMD

Post by Denaris »

Folks,

I am still looking for a decently priced Head Mounted Display that can manage at least 1024x768. Does anyone know of such a device? It seems that most products are either too pricey or lack features / performance.

I've asked about the eMagin Z800 but I don't think it's the unit for me.
I've seen a number of other cool products out there but nothing that quite falls in the price range (< 800 USD)

Thanks!

des anybody know of a porche for less then 10000 euro? ive only found a ford focus for that price.

lol

joking.

i think that it will be a difficult search. the HDM are in a very early stage compared to monitors or tvs. actually all the 3D solutions are in a early stage. its normal that the prices are above your requirements now. personally i doubt that youre going to find what you search. but anyway good luck..

I have a pair of Virtual I/Os (with head tracker and PC interface) that were $1000 in 1995. If you ask me, the HMD market has gone nowhere over the last ten years. They still charge too much of a premium for little compatibility and poor immersion.
