Stereo works in OpenGL but not in Direct3D

Hi all

I have a Core 2 Duo 6320 with NVIDIA 7600GT. I have installed the latest 3dStereo software from NVIDIA but when i try to activate the Stereo Function nothing happens. I have tested several games and i discovered that i only can activate Stereo in OpenGL games. All DIrect3D games that i have tested don't work in stereo (view is normal)

So my questios is, why Opengl based games works and D3D games didn't? Is there a solution for this?

Thanks

1.)
Which driver combo do you use?
Is it more like 163.xx and 162.50 beta or more like 94.xx and 94.xx beta or maybe 91.31 and 91.31?
All listed above should work to a certain degree on series7 cards.
Most stable for your purposes might be the 9x.xx driver combos.

2.)
The games might be of importance. Some don't work at all (cause crashes) or have just two identical images.

3.)
it might be the fact that you don't have any seperation or convergence.
Try pushing crtl+F4 for seperation and crtl+F6 for convergence.

4.) Wait some time until a new S-3D driver gets released. That should be just a matter of Years

Thanks for your reply.

I have installed the 91.31 graphic driver, and the 91.31 stereo3d, official releases. I have tested many games, most of them listed in the Stereo3D like:

-Max Payne
-Max Payne2
-Alien VS Predator
-Alien VS Predator2
-Virtua Tennis
-Flight Simulator 2001
-Unreal Tournament
-Enclave
-Wolfestein Enemy Territories

From this list i can only activate stereo in Unreal, Enclave and Wolfestein, of course in OPENGL mode. In Direct3D nothing happens (game is working but without Stereo). I have tryed this on three diferent computers and always the same, only can run stereo in opengl. I also tried the 3dmark2003 with the same results.

PD: My shorcut for activate stereo is CTRL+T (i think it's the default one)

Not sure how long you've been around so forgive me if i'm saying something that's obvious now. Are you running the games with both cores on your cpu enabled? Newer drivers support dual core better than the old ones though. (Or: They might disable one of the cores to improve compability).

cheers

I will try to disabe one core and i will post the results. Can you tell me a game that you know that works well in stereo with 91.31?

Thanks for your reply

hi! unreal should work!

but you must disable one core else it doesnt work. in the "do it yourself" section there is a tutorial sticky made by neil on how to reduce to one core...

welcome to the board.. :)
