Shutter glasses with an xbox 360?

Post by Daemon »

Hello everyone, I have great respect for all of you who have successfully setup stereoscopic display system because right now it is blowing my mind.

I am trying to get the 3d function on my Samsung PN42B450 working with my Xbox 360, but I cannot decide what brand of shutter glasses to get. My first choice was the Samsung glasses, which are darn near impossible to find, so I went with nvidea glasses. I did not realize that the usb port on the emitter was for more than power and a computer was essential to making that setup work.

So, now im confused because now I cant tell which brands of shutter glasses will function without the aid of a computer and draw their sync data solely from the "3d sync" port on the tv.

I have been considering the RealD crystal eyes 3, but I cannot get a reply back from the a tech if they will function in conjunction to an xbox 360 and compatible tv.

Thanks,
Dae

I suggest to get now the eDimensional DLP glasses or the old ELSA revelators for cheap, which are nearly identical and both work fine with this (and other 3D-ready) TVs and then later this year switch to the Bit Cauldron (http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=2202) or yet unannounced RealD shutter glasses.

Btw. I also own the Samsung 3D plasma and despite some very negative reviews am very happy with this TV. Just playing Avatar, Dirt2 and NFS Shift and barely notice any ghosting. And gaming on 50" 3D is amazing.

I use a pc and the PS50B450, don't know much about consoles. Could be kool if You get a Xbox 360 working in 3D.

Hello Nobsi,

I probably already asked, but which glasses do you own and use with your tv?

SUCCESS!

I have finally gotten my 360 to display 3d from the game "avatar". The glasses I settled on were the RealD crystal eyes 3 which I picked up on ebay for round a $100. I switched out my samsung 42" for a Mitsubishi 60" C9 series and I have to say that the awe factor is amazing. Even at less than 8 feet, the picture is spectacular.

As far as the quality of the 3d picture, I can honestly say that that picture has no noticeable ghosting with the RealD glasses.
