Any good 2D->3D image converters?

I am looking for a program that will let me convert 2D images to 3D. It doesn't have to be automatic, manual process is fine. The few programs I did find were either old and unsupported, didn't work, or they wanted some insane amount of money for it. Are there any decent freeware programs?

what type of preview are you looking for? This program works well with shutters:
http://www.texnai.co.jp/eng/stereo3D/StPaint/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the free version does not allow you to save but you can just printscreen the L and R views into photoshop and save it there. The program is very nice.

Ok, thanks. I saw that program before but didn't bother downloading because it was $150 and the trial disabled saving. Didn't think about printing the screen. Nice hack. I'm downloading right now.

Very cool software, I noticed that the free version let you print the pictures so you can just print to PDF or JPG with 3rd party printer emulators.
