"Lord of the Rings online" LOTRo can't turn on 3D

Post by da_giz »

Hi,

I started Lord of the Rings online this weekend and was really excited how it would look like in 3D. But I just couldn't get it to work, 3D doesn't even turn on.

I thought it would be similar to WoW and should work just fine, it is a DirectX game as far as I know.

Does anyone have some suggestions as to what I should try?
I guess this is not the first game that needed tweaking to get it to run, but I have no idea where to start.
Yes I am pretty new to the whole 3D thing, but all my other games work just fine.

I would really love to get that one running
When I try to switch on 3D nothing happens at all, as if I hadn't even pushed the button.

Thanks for the help,
if there is more info needed about the game and what happens I will
provide it as good as I can.

I have the same problem. I've got a 7 days trial key yesterday.
It seems that the driver dont detect the game or maybe the game dont runs in "real" fullscreen mode. Its no post processing problem because my glasses dont start to work (they dont tint black).

That is exactly the problem, the glasses don't even start.

Does anyone have an idea what to do?
Perhaps the problem is a known one with other games?

I was able to play the game in stereo3d.

What have i done to make it work? I tried several things
1. edited the config file located in "eigene Dateien"
- fakefullsreen = false
- postprocessingEffects = false
- hz to 85
- resolution to 1024x768
- disable aa ingame

2. used nhancer and changed the profile for lotro to force to supersampling antialiasing and also oblivion aa setting.

The 3d now works with my dlp projector really breathtaking.
No artefacts, seperation and convergence can be fully used.
But there isnt any anitialiasing. On the big screen pixels are very noticeable then.

THANK YOU!!! It works! And WOW! how it works, it looks awesome!
Didn't even need to change any 3D settings, just looks great the moment it is turned on :D

I tried some of that stuff before but I didn't see that fakefullscreen in the config.

DANKE! Super :)

I am happy that i could help you!

The changes to the other settings have to be done, because i wanted to fire up my gtx 8800 in stereo3d. Driver support isn?t as good as for the older geforce cards for now. But maybe the next driver will be the one which we all are looking for. Full AA+Postprocessing Effects+Dual Core+SLI+Vista Driver

I guess thats the huge anouncement some people are rumoring? Naah, that would be a very very giga huge anouncement!
