Portable s3d

Post by DavidGhast »

I'm wanting to do presentations to potential business prospects to showcase my companies 3d animations, and i need a portable way to do this, is there any way to make a laptop screen stereo? Are there any small stereo (single) projectors that can work off of any surface yet?

I remember there were some auto-stereo 3d laptops shown at trade shows last year but it doesn't look like any are actually coming out. You could wait and see about it though:

http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?optio ... 0&Itemid=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There was also a Sharp laptop that did auto-stereo3d back from years ago but I'm not sure if that will suit your needs. Its discontinued but you may be able to find a used one if you look really hard:

Then there is this company which sells lenticular lens kits to convert your laptop but I haven't heard of anyone actually having any success with them. Might be worth a shot though:

Sorry I can't help more but the technology you really want is just not out yet. Its coming though.

Ive heard of those attachable lenticular screens, but ive never actually heard if they worked. From the manual, it appears that i would have to process my video in their proprietary editor for it to work, sounds iffy. Ive also researched that 3d laptop a few months ago, and the only store that claimed to sell them wouldnt respond, so i guess they didnt have em either.

Theres has to be a portable way to see 3d! Even if its hacked together.

Here's another recent no glasses addon for 13.3in laptops. It might be a bit small but it's portable. Unfortunately, it looks like it's not out yet.

You might be able to find a 3D photo frame that can display videos. I've only found one and I'm not sure if it can take S3D videos or if it only does 2D to 3D conversion.

I found a laptop called Sharp Actius RD3D (I think it is also called Sharp Mebius RD3D, this might be the japanese model, not sure). I have no idea if it's still for sale and where you can get it.

I could not find anything that really fits what you want but they seem to have many products and their website looks professional so it may be useful to save their website address for the future.

You might have to use a small LCD monitor (Zalman monitor or something else) and make yourself a padded briefcase to take it with you.
