We may not be alone:

The universe is very big. There's 1 million stars for every grain of sand on earth.
It's mind boggling tbh

hmm only one problem:
The next earth like planet is farer away than 80 Light years.. So a human can't reach them event at Lightspeed. (I haven't calculated the Self-Time reduction due the high speed but I think it's way to far. Also it's imposible to reach lightspeed when you have mass...)

So we have to wait a loooooong time until we can reach at least one of them...

At speeds close to the light the time goes slower (If you travel at a speed very close to the speed of light your own speedometer will show speeds way higher than the light even if you from an external observer view only have a speed close to it... o.O).
If you know where to go and have luck with asteroids and if the spaceship is able to accelerate to those speeds and if you have the patience to wait while accelerating as well as slowing down you should be able to reach them in a lifetime. o.O

Once we discover the mass relays then FTL travel will be easy and we can reach those planets.

We could meet with E.T. at half way, so it would just be 40 Light years each
Or we could just wait for them to do the hard work and then let them explain to us how they did it...

I'm just trying to find a way not to study 8)

I'm reminded of an expression that someone said to me in school many years ago...

"If we spent as much attention on the space program as we do on women's underwear, we'd be on Venus eating hotdogs right now".

Sadly, he passed away a few months ago. He had a singular wit.

Regards,
Neil
