DX9 Games in SBS/TAB with Geo-11... Possible?
As I have been doing more testing of games, I have realized that I am quickly moving away from my desktop/RTX2080 rig and toward my M15/RTX 3070/Passive TV/Quest 2 setup as the vast majority of my game catalog is working well in the new setup, thanks to all of the flexibility that Geo-11 brings with it.
Because of this, I am wanting to see if I can play these older games in SBS or TAB mode with my Quest 2.
So, question for davegl1234 and bo3bber (and anyone else that might have an answer)...
Is this something that might be possible in Geo-11's future?
Thanks

Not very likely. That would required wrapping the DX9 API instead, and doing all of that 3Dmigoto work again. There is a dx9 prototype that Dave put together to do this job, but I think none of us has any idea where it stands.
Best bet, based on Nephelim's recent experiments- try converting the game via dgvoodoo2 to dx11, at which point geo-11 can take over and make it work. You lose the HelixMod game fix for dx9 though.
Another possibility might be to just use the DX9 support that still exists in current drivers. The DX9 games and fixes using HelixMod will still run and look good, you just need to output to a "3D TV" like 3D TV Play supported. If you setup your Quest 2 as a "3D TV" and it will work.

I've got the DX9 games going via 3DTV Play and my passive 3DTV. So... almost there.
Thanks - kind of figured the VR implementation would be a longshot.

I never used 3D TV Play, but does it have a SBS or TAB output possible? That's what I was thinking, if you can get that part to output SBS, then the Quest 2 can see that and convert via BigScreen or VirtualDesktop.thebigdogma wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 7:50 am I've got the DX9 games going via 3DTV Play and my passive 3DTV. Hello, Yes the best method I discovered is to convert the DX9 game to DX11 with DGVoodoo2 and then you would use Geo-11 to convert the image to TAB,SBS.. Works well and /I am currently using it in StarCraft II..
Even if I did not use Geo-11 3D Migoto can convert the game to SBS and TAB. but I think with Geo11 it is full HD and not halved rez.. It may not work with all games but you would have to experiment with it to find out as this is all experimental at this stage..
Or put in a request for help on a particular game..

Re: DX9 Games in SBS/TAB with Geo-11... Possible?
Not quite there yet...
In fact, I just ran into a problem that I hope someone can help with.
While 3DTV Play on my laptop with latest drivers and passive 3dtv was working great yesterday on all of the dx9 games that I tried, today they all have the same issue...
As soon as I launch any of the games, they will all default to 1280x720, which should be fine, but the game windows on my TV also shrink to accomodate. My first reaction was that the games were somehow triggering my laptop screen as the default, but this has never happened before and it didn't happen yesterday after using 3D Fix manager to inject the 3DV files into driver 511.79. It also makes sense to me since the games all flicker 2 images that aren't synched with the passive TV's refresh rate while in the reduced game window size.
I've Googled and tried to research the problem, but have come up with nothing.
Thanks in advance.

Update...
Fixed it! Disabled 3DV in control panel, re-enabled and... voila!
