Last Update: 1/21/24

Not sure if this will help anyone, but I've noticed quite a few questions from the community on the subject, so thought I would post a list of games that I have tested and that are working well using latest drivers and the RTX3070 in my laptop and, more recently, my Alienware Aurora R15 with a 4070ti. I have played them all in TAB/SBS output on both my Vizio Passive 3D 1080p 3DTV, Nreal Air and on Quest Pro via Virtual Desktop:

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Hob (use 32-bit version of Geo-11)
Spyro Reignited Trilogy
Darksiders Warmastered Edition
Darksiders III
Darksiders Genesis
Days Gone (with Masterotaku's updated fix)
Jedi: Fallen Order
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
God of War (with Masterotaku's updated fix)
Raji: An Ancient Epic
Mass Effect: Andromeda
PGA Tour 21
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
Jet Cave Adventure
Kao the Kangaroo (2022)
Horizon Chase Turbo (use 32-bit version of Geo-11 and 32-bit version of 2019 Unity universal fix)
Recore: Definitive Edition
New Super Lucky's Tale (game crashes on exit)
Lego The Incredibles
Batman: Arkham Knight
Yooka-Laylee
F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch
Fe (game crashes on exit)
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst (change in-game settings required by fix BEFORE installing fix and Geo-11)
Unravel
Strider (1st game tried where there was no existing fix (though it always ran great without one.) Geo-11 responsible for everything. Auto-convergence particularly impressive)
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
Crash Bandicoot 4
Death's Door
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom
Skylar and Plux
Planet Alpha
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Mages of Mystralia
The Ascent
Loopmancer
The Tale of Bistun (some shader issues that the WIP Unity 2019 doesn't fix, but very playable... looks like a cool, little game)
Klonoa: Fantasy Reverie Series (with Masterotaku's Geo-11 fix)
Dishonored 2
Sniper Elite 4
Vampyr
Pac-Man World - Re-Pac'd
Trek to Yomi
Destroy All Humans
Destroy All Humans 2- Reprobed
Need for Speed: Payback
Titanfall 2
Tower Princess
Greedfall
Blind Fate: Ido no Yami (motion blur off)
Little Orpheus (Unity 2019 univ fix doesn't do anything as far as I can tell, so usual water issues, but still playable)
Pumpkin Jack
Asterigos
Trifox
Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova
Kena: Bridge of Spirits (If W11, disable full-screen optimizations and run in W8 compatibility mode... took a long time for me to figure this one out.)
Evil West
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Batora: Lost Haven
Blacktail
A Plague Tale: Innocence (with Masterotaku's fix)
Sonic Frontiers (with Masterotaku's fix)
Star Trek: Resurgence
Atomic Heart
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
Scars Above
Hi-Fi Rush
Spongebob Squarepants: Cosmic Shake
FFVII Remake: Intergrade
Sniper Elite 5 (VK3DVision)
System Shock
Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow
Oceanhorn 2
Calisto Protocol
Cocoon
Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express
Air Twister
American Arcadia
Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharoah
Gangs of Sherwood
Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death (32-bit Geo-11)
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
Prince of Persia: Lost Crown
Kaku: Ancient Seal

Games where I have not been able to force stereo:

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter 1

As I test, I will update this list...

I'm running a similar setup with an LG passive 4k OLED and 3080 desktop and Top and Bottom direct mode.

This is what I've tried so far that works:
GTA5 (using the directions on the GTAV benchmark thread)
Super Mega Baseball 3 (using helix mod fix for first Super Mega Baseball)
Journey

What doesn't work for me:
Hitman 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Metal Gear Solid 5: Desktop screen freezes with everyting zoomed in, can only see one corner of the screen.

Still a lot of games to try so I'll update this as I go. I'm having more fun experimenting to see what works than actually playing the games!

If anyone feels like doing the leg work on testing games, I could use a thread with a list of games that work or fail in nvidia_dx9 output mode to an nvidia 3D Vision monitor or projector. While using latest drivers.

DX9 Psychonauts 2 = fail.

HOWEVER - gents, please try native (half)SBS output with something like Virtual Desktop + VR headset - I think the general compatibility will be very high!

Please see my post here:
viewtopic.php?p=184872#p184872

HelixVision is looking to have native FULL-SBS implementation for geo-11 that ought to trump all other solutions going forward.

Side-note: aside from the DX9 path - iZ3D toyed with the possibility of something called "software page-flipping". It provided a page-flipped signal which ought to be able to be output natively like SBS/TaB is currently, but at full resolution. This will work on 3DV displays without the 3DV driver installed, however left-right images might be swapped if the FPS drops.

The glasses will then need to be activated manually. A while back, there was a post where a poster activated them using the minimised test image, though there are probably better ways/hacks...

I see I’m not the only one who cant get SBS working with Batman: Arkham Knight on a 511 driver (No 3DVision at all). (3080/11900K).

Ones that have worked for me not yet mentioned (SBS)
Snowrunner (EPIC)
Wreckfest
Sniper Elite 4
The Witcher 3

Fixed my geo-11 issue with Arkham Knight on my 511.65 driver by using the "3DMigoto Loader" instead. Now works like a charm in SBS.

What is the 3DMigoto Loader and how do you use it?

VR3D wrote: Wed Jun 29, 2022 6:05 am What is the 3DMigoto Loader and how do you use it?
You should find it in the geo-11 package inside the "loader" directory. Its "3DMigoto Loader.exe".

For my Arkham Knight solution, I put the geo-11 64 bit version of "3DMigoto Loader.exe" into the same directory as the BatmanAK.exe (where the fix is).

I then setup the [Loader] section of the d3d11.ini file as follows

[Loader]
target = BatmanAK.exe
module = d3d11.dll
launch = BatmanAK.exe

Then all I have to do is start "3DMigoto Loader.exe" and it does the rest by reading the settings from the ini file and then starting BatmanAK and injecting itself into the running process once it has started.

All the other settings I left as is.. ie SBS in d3d11dm.ini and force_stereo=2 in d3d11.ini

Works like a charm on my EPIC version of the game using 511.65 drivers (3080)

I can confirm that this solution does force stereo in the Steam version, but it has two side effects:

1. The game thinks I have a Dualsense controller instead of an Xbox One, but then will revert back-and-forth between the two, then won't allow any stick control once gameplay starts.

2. Game doesn't recognize my Steam save game file.

Thank you for explaining the loader. I'll give it a shot.

Could this part be replaced for other games as well that don't work?

Loader]
target = BatmanAK.exe
module = d3d11.dll
launch = BatmanAK.exe

Kai just suggested me another simplier workaround: just take the dxgi ddl from 3Digoto Github and just copy paste near the d3d11 dll inside the game exe folder and launh the game normally xD

Works like an absolute charm. No need for "3DMigoto Loader.exe" any more. Thanks for the tip. This just keeps getting better and better. :)

Gents, thanks to the many insights of thebigdogma and others, I can confirm DX9 path working on 3DV hardware (not just Virtual Desktop via SBS/TAB which cuts performance in half)- it ought to also work on 3XXX and later cards.

thebigdogma, or anyone else with a 30xx, I'm curious as to what kind of framerates you are getting in GoW at, say, 1440. On an overclocked 2080Ti, the cpu bug is beautifullly gone but even with 75% res scaling at 1440 and some settings set to "original" there are scenes where I hit 50 and GPU is maxed out (which is always an awesome sight). Just curious what it looks like on a 30xx card.

Thx

I would love to be able to tell you, but I have just discovered a small bug. When I select "true" for the FPS display text in the d3dxdm, it will cause the game to crash at launch. As long as it is set to "false," the game runs great.

In my tests so far, these games work with geo-11 in nvidia_dx9 mode on an RTX3070 in a windows 10 environment, with the caveat that they'll crash or fail to boot a few times before launching successfully:

Deep Rock Galactic (minor visual issues w/ terrain damage and reflections, might be a game-fix issue)
Final Fantasy XIV (runs great, needs an updated fix though)
Ori and the Blind Forest (original release and definitive edition work, took some finagling to get the games to actually run at the resolution I need to trigger 3d vision)
The Witcher 3 (seemed to run and look perfect)
Dragon Ball FighterZ (looked good from what I could see, limited testing done tho)

These games ran in SBS/TAB/Katanga_VR modes and would not boot or immediately crashed with nvidia_dx9 mode enabled:
Yakuza 0
Final Fantasy XV (though it's REALLY spotty, idk what changed in my environment but it struggles to boot and doesn't always work even with settings I've used before)

These games crashed immediately regardless of which direct mode I selected:

Borderlands 3

Not a geo-11 compatible game since it's native DX9, but I can also report that Metal Gear Rising still boots in native 3d vision and looks good / still plenty stable on an RTX3070 with modern drivers.

Most of these I've posted threads documenting my results in more detail, but I figure I may as well post a more concise list

I too had Borderlands 3 crash with the proper 2.1 3D Fix installed. It runs fine using the the latest losti 4 universal UE4 fix installed, however, because its a heavily modified UE4 engine some shadows etc. don't look quite right. Would be nice to know why it crashes with the specific 2.1 fix, though, cause it obviously works with geo-11.

What if you replace the shaders from the 2.1 fix (just copy the ShaderFixes stuff from 2.1 over to UF ShaderFixes)?

That is so strange, I just had the same thing happen to me in Monster Hunter World with masterotaku's fix (DX11 output). Had to turn off afterburner and geo-11 fps counter.

EDIT: I was able to start Afterburner AFTER the game was already running. *shrug*

How exactly are you getting the games to run so well? I'm using a laptop with a RTX 3070 as well and with the exception of Kao, every game is so stuttery I can't play them. I'm using a Quest 2 with a link cable with no supersampling and it doesn't make a difference. Crash Bandicoot 4 was averaging over 100 fps on the desktop but as soon as I put on the headset it's unplayable after a couple of minutes. Any ideas on what's dragging down my performance?

I use Virtual Desktop wirelessly and performance has been fantastic across all titles I have tried. I suspect this might have something to do with Airlink/Oculus Desktop App.

You need to make sure that you are not starving the Oculus/SteamVR app of GPU resources. It sounds like you have Crash set with no vsync enabled, so it just pumps out frames until the GPU is maxed out. If you then add in the VR load, it's going to starve that in favor of pumping out frames you cannot see.

Set vsync on, or use a frame rate limiter to make the game sync with the headset frequency.

HelixVision does all this automatically, but is currently not going to work with geo-11. We set the nvidia frame rate limiter to be half of your headset frequency by default.

When I played Jedi: Fallen Order on my 3070, I had a distinct issue with it. It would work, without hiccup, for about an hour, then the monitor screen would go blank. The game would persist however, but the system would become inaccessible. So I couldn't close the game, or access Windows. I was able to fix it by playing the game in Windowed Mode. For others, who have had a similar issue.

Hey all,

Having some issues with PGA Tour 2K21.

I believe I have to apply the 3D fix first, then copy geo-11 over and overwrite the files.

The default separation is 80, which for me in PGA shows huge shadow missteps.

I'm not sure the 3D Fix is actually working, and would be great to get some advice around this. I've turned TAA off, SSAO off and set the desktop and game res to 1440p.

Any ideas on how I might fix this? Love my golf games 8-)

Are you overwriting the fix's d3dx.ini with the version found in the Geo-11 folder? If so, you are breaking the original fix. You want to copy all of the other files in the Geo-11 folder, but not that one.

Hi, thank you for this thread. It really helped me to get going with geo-11 and VR.

I did have a couple questions about the games on the list. I haven't been able to find Geo-11 fixes for the following games: reCore: Definitive Edition, Death's Door, and Pac-Man World - Re-Pac'd. For recCore the only fix I could find was from 2019 and I couldn't find anything for the other two games. Could you point me to the geo-11 fixes you used for these games? Thanks.

The original was never fixed, so I wouldn't hold my breath for a proper fix.
You could also use Superdepth or CM Unleased.

Same for Death's Door = Unity

ReCore=DHR, a retired shaderhacker, so wait patiently and perhaps someone else will eventually look at it or
play it with an older GPU/system. Or since it is also UNITY, try the Universal fix if applicable.

But I imagine that the two Unity Universal fixes probably do not work properly with Geo-11 and both DHR/4everAwake retired/left.

So good luck, in some cases you just might find "Legacy System/Drivers FTW"

Also keep in mind that the new Flip Present feature added by bo3b, might be your good friend when it comes to Unity games.
I know Pac-Man just came out but if you look at the top of the thread the OP said he had it working already. I only asked about games that are on the list for this thread which means they should work properly with geo-11. I did get ReCore to work just fine with the old drivers and geo-11 update. I still need to try the other two with the Unity fix as you suggested.
