geo11- Resident evil 2 and 3

Post by Tullebob »

Some elements render incorrectly in Geo11 - but the PAINFUL CPU limitation, in particular in RE3, seems to be completely gone - with the game running smooth. Will be a joy with updated fix.

I'm also having pretty large issues with some of the rendering. Here's a picture of the main menue in the Resident Evil 2 remake, for example. Let me know what information you need, and I'll do my best, although I haven't used 3d in a long time. Also, I'm glad to provide you a steam key for the game to diagnose the issue. I appreciate the work you do, and I just subscribed to Patreon as well. Thanks in advance!!

Can you list your setup, which output path you're using, which driver, etc? RE2 looked perfect for me, the few locations I checked. Didnt try RE3 but I thought someone mentioned somewhere that it's also fine (I think masterotaku said on the discord that he wants to verify a few things, but not sure if he saw some issues or not).

Setup:
gtx 1080 ti, 11gb vram
Ryzen r9 3950x 4.1ghz on all 32 threads
32gb ddr4 ram cl16 @ 3600mhz

I rolled back resident evil 2 to the direct x 11 version in steam, in order to run the mod.
Latest nvidia driver 516.59
Output path? Ummm, I installed everything to the root directory of the game. Please clarify what you mean, if this is wrong.
Output is Side by Side.

Let me know more information you need, or what you need me to clarify

The latest version of RE2 does not have DirectX11. It was the same for me. You have to downgrade to the previous version of the game.

Both rigs were rolled back to dx11 when I originally posted. Both rigs were on the dx11 version, I rolled back before posting. I mentioned that:

One thing to note is that AO set to HBAO causes issues as it only renders in 1 eye. Set AO to SSAO and it will look awesome.

That picture tells me you overwrote the d3dx.ini that comes with the fix. "d3dx.ini" is the heart of fixes and you killed it :p.

Anyway, we're aware of the HBAO problem. I've been trying to fix it. Unsuccessfully for now (partial fix, partial break).

The blog says "Using an ambient occlusion setting lower than HDAO will break the position of shadows. So make sure you use HDAO or preferably HBAO+". Does this still apply or is there an issue even with HBAO+ introduced with geo-11?

HBAO+ is currently broken in geo-11. Either I or the geo-11 devs have to fix it.
Reminder that motion blur has to be disabled.

Dragged and dropped the entire zip package, no overwriting, I can assure you of that good sir. What fix? Also, would you like the log?
