Does 3D Vision properly kick in when playing a DX12 only game?

Over the last 6 years, I was able to play all the WWE 2K games in 3D Vision without any fix. They all performed quite well out of the box. So, I was planning on trying the same with the upcoming WWE 2K22. As it turned out the game will be DX12 only. I know, the game can't be fixed for that reason, but if it's playable in its default state, 3D Vision kicking in properly would suffice...

So, is there any chance 3D Vision correctly kicks in when playing a DX12 only game?

Elden Ring is a DX12 game and 3D kicks in, but with errors (shadows are broken). I don't have too much idea, but it may depend on the engine that the game uses. I thought a DX12 would never kick in directly, until I saw Elden Ring a few days ago.

Yes, many dx12 games trigger 3dv on older drivers, for example recently I tried AC Valhalla. They just cannot be fixed because the 3dmigoto wrapper doesn't work with dx12.

Thanks for the info! So, I will give it a try and - if necessary - make use of the refund policy....

Speaking of Elden Ring: if broken shadows are the only issue wouldn't it be possible to just disable them or set them to "low"?

It is not possible to disable shadows, and low shadows are also broken.

Borderlands 3 is another game that will engage 3D Vision in dx12 and is broken as well.
But of course, it has a dx11 fix from DJ-RK.

Anyhow, don't forget to try to force dx11 if it's broken in dx12, the few commands that I'm aware of are
-d3d11
-force-d3d11
-force-feature-level-11-0

If it uses UE4, to remove broken effects you can try

Elden ring almost looks playable in dark dungeons, but no amount of messing with graphics settings makes it playable.
Already tried every known command to force dx11 it doesn't work, and even if it did it also uses the accursed EAC so it would have to be disabled and risk banning anyway I imagine. and it's a real shame because the art style in this game is incredible.

@3DNovice: I will definitely try the usual DX11 launch options!

@Necropants: Great info! So, I can finally lay my hope to rest. Since I am very forgiving when it comes to issues in 3D Vision, I was still wondering if I couldn't live with the issues mentioned. But if it's that broken in 3DV, I am fine with playing Elden Ring flat.

I would say no, the shadows are completely borked and this game is all about the shadows. Apparently SD3d works but i don't have a monitor capable of SBS
