THANK YOU AGAIN GOD! This will be sooo sweet. Hope the game is well optimized and not so cpu demanding. Fingers crossed. Since there are no real open areas in the game, I hope the CPU issue will not be to bad.

This would be epic in 3D. I've been meaning to replay it once I get a PS5, but now that it's coming to PC I won't have to wait.. or buy a PS5.
That being said, this does use a proprietary engine so who knows how hard it will be to fix.

True... but at least there's a chance!
And, we will certainly be able to make use of CM/CMU and/or Reshade if all else fails.
Which would still make it 1000x better than playing it on PS4/5!

This is awesome, I've been eyeing my PS4 copy with the thoughts of playing it.
I'm so glad that I held out.

Don't want to piss on your fire guys, but this would not be the first time a Sony exclusive was advertised as Dx11 on the steam store then closer to release it got changed to Dx12 only. I can't remember which one it was either horizon zero dawn or Death Stranding. Cyberpunk as well did this I think

Of course we won't know until the release but so far the stars are aligned. On the flipside, some games listed as dx12 also came with dx11.Necropants wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:19 pm Don't want to piss on your fire guys, but this would not be the first time a Sony exclusive was advertised as Dx11 on the steam store then closer to release it got changed to Dx12 only. New unknown engine -> more fun :p. Except if it's similar to the RE Engine (the most painful engine to fix for the first time that I saw, regarding TextureOverride poop).
Days Gone was DX11, so I don't doubt this one mentioning DX11 too much. What I hope is that drivers won't be a problem and that the game won't reject 3Dmigoto or something.

hmmm, curious. No ray-tracing though, so it's not a full-featured DX12 suite.Shift-E wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 2:29 pm well they partnered with Nvidia and includes DLSS, can only hope it has DX11 and DX12 I guess...

Game preordered. We just have to pray that they won't change it to DX12 at the last minute.

Dx11 confirmed. Cool so at least this time the pre release system req's were right.
Apparently it's a fantastic port too.
Really regretting I played some of these games on ps4 now, Sony, Bloodborne when?

Posted these on 3DV Discord.
Game runs great - decided to give SD3D a try while waiting for Masterotaku's fix. Results are pretty damn impressive running everything on "Ultra" with Fidelity FX on "Super Ultra" - on my 2070 at 1080p.

Re: God of War 1/14/22... DX11!
I believe it is using a Sony-developed engine that is shared among many of their studios and that was originally developed by Naughty Dog. My recollection from my years at PlayStation was that Guerilla had their own engine and that they have continued to work with/develop it.
Masterotaku is knee-deep in it now. If you go to the 3DV Discord page, you can follow the development of the fix.

I've seen masterotaku follow up, but I've "sadely" already done the game in 2018, like all playstation "exclusive" games... Can't wait 3/4years to play those games.

Re: God of War 1/14/22... DX11!
WIP fix 2: -removed-
F1 controls some convergence presets (default is 1.75).
F4 toggles off depth of field.
F5 toggles off vignette.
For impatient people, and also to check how it performs in your PC. It's incomplete, you can expect expect graphics bugs (especially compute shader macroblocks on the left eye sometimes) and some unfixed effects, etc :p.
What is fixed (that I know, up to the first troll):
- Temporal anti-aliasing.
- Shadows.
- Lighting.
- Volumetric lighting.
- Screen space reflections.
- Decals.
- Tessellation.
- Stereoized parallax occlusion mapping.
- Stereoized specular reflections.
- Some haloing fixes.
- One eye particle problems.
- Skybox.
- More small problems.
Things that I know are unfixed:
- Screen space shadows (imperfect when unfixed, but not 2D or anything like that).
- The left eye shows some flickering macroblocks depending on the view angle.
- Some lighting on objects that shows when you tilt the camera with photo mode.
In case you're wondering, both internal resolution % and FSR work fine.
Edit: WIP 2 to correct a config mistake and add some more fixes.

Re: God of War 1/14/22... DX11!
WOW WOW, thank you so much masterotaku!!! I just tested the patch for a few minutes and apart from the macroblocks it looks really good
On performance, my 2080ti could do the high settings on 1440p pretty well. the ultra setting are a little to much for an acceptable framerate.
It is incredible that 3D vision is deprecated, with the latest shader hacks and latest games 3D Vision looks mindblowing.
For people who have not played before tune down the motion blur significantly, it look unsharp even without movement.

Masterotaku, Thank you for sharing the WIP!!!!! This is amazing! I played through the opening scene and into the first battle and have to say if there was ever a game made to be played in 3d, it's this one (I know, I know... all games are better in 3d... but GOW is going to be soooo much fun).
On performance, I am also seeing the same with Marin3D with my 2080ti. Seeing some choppy parts and audio and video get off synch a little with the dialog , but overall not bad at all.. The first fight was great... using the shield, throwing the axe and recalling it in 3d is next level awesome.

This is awesome!
I saw a dev on the Steam forum say "Hi folks. Wanted to jump in and say that we do in fact use the DXGI Flip model."
So I wondered if Kai's dll would work or not, since he said it wasn't fully fledged.
Hats off to masterotaku and Kai, as well as all the many talented shaderhackers and coders that make it happen

Today's game update broke some important parts of the fix like shadows and some other lighting. I've refixed most of it, but I still need to refix some things.
And all this time after WIP 3 I've been fixing more and more things (even though I'm still early into the game), to the point that I don't recommend people to play the game yet :p.

God of War, WIP fix 4: -removed-
Hotkeys:
- F1: convergence presets.
- F2: HUD depth presets.
- F4: depth of field toggle.
- F5: vignette toggle.
I've refixed what the update broke, and fixed a lot more new and old things. I'm about 1/3 through the game. But still 73 hours logged in Steam :p.
Edit: as expected, new shaders to fix a bit after continuing.

Amazing work Masterotaku! Applied your final fix and been playing with 3d Surround (3 PG278qr) using flawless widescreen. Such a great gaming experience!!!
I am having issues getting my 2nd setup to switch to 3d that is using a LG TV (e6 with edid driver - other games work fine in 3d using 3d fix manager on the tv). Will keep trying to make it work, but if you have any ideas on why it wouldn't switch for a TV setup, let me know.
Thanks again!!!!

This game is simply stunning in 3d (and a great game, too) - it rightfully joins the pantheon of 3d demo classics like Metro, Trine, Tomb Raider, Witcher 3 and whatever else you think are the best 3d games. Thank you, yet again, masterotaku for this fix.
