FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch

Post by Lysander »

Upcoming great-looking side-scroller based on UE4, so hopefully will work with the universal fix. The dream lives on.

A demo was released for this today. You can run it in Dx11. I tried it with The UE4 fix and 3d kicks in and the main menu and characters render in 3D. Unfortunately it crashes for me after trying to start a new game, this happens with or without the fix:

Code: Select all

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 907]
Rendering thread exception:
LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 258]
Direct3DDevice->CreateUnorderedAccessView(Texture->GetResource(),&UAVDesc,(ID3D11UnorderedAccessView**)UnorderedAccessView.GetInitReference()) failed
 at F:/Depot/depot/ZingangGameNew/UnrealEngine/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/Private/D3D11UAV.cpp:116
 with error E_INVALIDARG
This is probably because I'm running it on windows 7 (I use 7 for 3dvision and win 10 for VR and 2D games). The demo installs itself in a folder with Chinese characters which makes Losti's UE4 scripts fail, you'll need to rename the folder, run the script and then rename it back to the original so that steam can launch it.

Yeah, the fix is perfect (minus a minor puddle reflection issue) and the game is beautiful.

Wow, it looks incredible, another case of a game that "lhmm looks nice" in 2d screenshots, and wow impressive 3d depth in the environments.

Should be fixed in 5.20 Universal fix. If not please Report back and provide a savegame. Thx.
