I was not really interested in this one (especially compared to their other exclusives) but then I saw it uses UE4. Please let it use UE4 and DX11 on PC...now that would be an open world 3D treat

TLOU2, Bloodborne, and Ghost of Tsushima next please

Some games i can think of...
The Order 1884, which will hopefully be getting a sequel. Steampunk with Vampires and Werewolves = win IMHO. I loved DarkWatch back in the day, someone really needs to revive that IP.
Red Dead Redemtion would be awesome, if it made it's way to PC in some type of remastered version. Also the last of Us 1 & 2and the Uncharted series from Naughty Dog, remastered as well.
But I already played all these on the Playstation thinking that they would remain exclusives, if they could be played in 3D, I'd play them again.

Thankfully, some games were announced with PC releases, like Hogwarts Legacy, The Callisto and Gotham Knights. But, I'm doubtful, that they will be playable on these current drivers and will likely be dx12.
I for one am glad to see that Alfred will be Alfred in Gotham Knights and not the new version found in the latest comics. Nothing against gay Asians, but FFS, the change in the comics in just plain wrong.

Gotham Knights is UE4 and doesn't seem to look that much more advanced than Arkham Knight (which is UE3!) so I think it's also high probability it will be DX11. Callisto and Hogwart's, yeah, those are visually stunning and likely DX12 :(
Last of us 1&2 are old enough to almost be guaranteed DX11, unless they do remasters, but those games look good already, not sure if remasters are needed (I guess maybe for PS5 like they're doing with a lot of the games - but that would just be textures, FPS + res, doesn't require DX12).

All in all this is great for us, I think we'll get a lot of PS games for 3D.

Another upcoming game to watch for is Elden Ring by FromSoftware

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elden_Ring

"Elden Ring is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is a collaborative effort between game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin and is scheduled for release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One"

https://www.pcgamer.com/elden-ring-everything-we-know/

Let's hope it's dx11 or Vulkan :P

Target has a PS4 page up saying Release Date: Dec 31, 2021
https://www.target.com/p/elden-ring-pla ... A-77401224
GameStop the same for Xbox One

Interesting about the release date. Wonder how credible that is.

Hopefully it's DX11 because all From Software games (at least the recent ones) were, so likely they'd use the same engine. But I thought the same about RE:Village so... :D BUT - RE games had dual DX11/12 engine before Village, whereas I'm quite sure no From games had DX12 option, so for them to go full DX12, without even being like an XBOX or PS5 exclusive leaves very high likelihood it's DX11.

Not credible at all - standard industry placeholder when they don't have a firm release date. With the Pandemic, I don't think any release date that is more than 60 days away can be counted upon. I expect we will be getting a rash of delays of Q3 and Q4 games shortly. As an aside/example, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, recently announced that there were more than 25 exclusive first-party games currently in development for PS5. The timing on that announcement is a little suspect. My guess is that statement was meant to soften the blow that is coming for PS5 owners after Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart is released in a few weeks - namely that the next God of War game will be delayed into 2022, as well as the Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel.

Hope I am wrong, but... 2021 seems to be shaping up to be a year to work on cleaning up that back catalog!

So the good news is 3D kicks in and the UE4 universal fix is working.

The bad news is the reflections are broken and some other minor issues. I didn't have time to try any of the alternate fixes or older versions, I wasted too much time trying to get HDR to work in 2D first (could not get it to kick in for some reason) - then had to head to work. It's close though...

According to Losti it's a pretty UE version engine (V4.11.1.0), I checked with DHR UF without success too (black left eye issue) but Losti will look into it

Losti confirmes it's heavy broken and his UF doesn't work at all with this UE version.
This will not be a simple fix...

I gave up, decided I would rather wait for 3D working and then try to get HDR working - since the UE4 fixes sometimes do not work with HDR. So I didn't want to see how great the game looks with HDR, only to have to turn it off for 3D :?
But I had to turn on HDR in Windows to have access to the in-game HDR settings, but even a restart could not get my OLED to recognize it. I read that setting Hz to an even 60 in-game fixed it for someone, but have not tried yet. I basically watched 2 minutes of the opening cut scene in all its brokeness, and turned it off.

Hope Losti can work his magic, I'll get a donation ready. Game has software-based screen-space ray traced global illumination, which might explain some of the weird artifacts I was seeing. Hope its fixable, nice to see additional PC tech added to the game - but if not, just lowering the settings removes it...from the Digital Foundry article:

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digi ... t-analysis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5fz9_w3bGo

The game is based on Epic's Unreal Engine 4 and I was happy to see that Bend Studio had updated the PC version to include a more recent UE4 innovation - software-based screen-space ray traced global illumination - available as an upgrade over the standard ambient occlusion tech deployed on the console versions. Essentially, the appearance of light bouncing around a game scene is emulated in screen-space, delivering a richer presentation with more realistic lighting and better, more realistic shadows. If light hits a red surface, for example, some measure of that 'redness' will illuminate the surroundings where appropriate. If this sounds familiar, The Coalition made a similar upgrade to the Xbox Series and PC versions of Gears 5, again by dipping into more recent UE4 engine updates and adding it to their existing codebase. The old SSAO is still there though for that authentic console look - it's now simply the 'high' setting for the in-game lighting

Indeed 60hz enabled HDR, thanks.

That said, I'm know playing all games with HDR OFF because HDR accentuates ghosting, burns my eyes ( I play in a dark room), draws more energy from my TV (x2 vs max eco mod) and contrast & colors are very good on my OLED C6V. My TV is quite always in maximum save eco mode 8)

I am out of fixing this game. I can make something right but the effort here is too much for me, i am not interested in this game and a fix will take too many time here. May be another sahder hacker will pick this up but not me. SORRY! This is fare away from the things i am used to ref. UE4 or UE3. Too many issues with ONE EYE or missing depth information for shadow fixes.

Yep I'm playing with SD3D, looks nice waiting for a proper 3Dvision fix but Losti gave up on this one: "UPDATE: DAYS GONE: I am out of fixing this game. It's a game DHR would love ;)

Ahhh just checked that out. I wonder how many games are in that fixing backlog, sounds extensive. A better man than me would just put the game on ice, but I am too tempted to check it out (and slum it in superdepth). Its a long game, so I will just play slowly here and there. Its the first AAA playstation game that is actually DX11, so its definitely enticing to just wait and see what the future holds...

In a crazy coincidence, I have yet to play a AAA open world game for the first time in 3D (only fake 3D - AC games, cyberpunk, Horizon, RDR2, Wildlands, etc). All fixed ones were my second time playing them (Dying Light, Witcher3, Fallout4, etc). I thought this was gonna be my first time exploring a new world in G3D, but Sony Bend had to throw us a curveball
