[3D-Fix] Watch Dogs: Legion [DX11] - V 2.00

Post by Losti »

Watch Dogs: Legion [DX11] - :3D -Vision-Ready-Fix

Image

Fixed
- "Camera Position Fix" adjusted for WDL from the DarkStarSword WD2 fix
- "White Glitch Fix" adjusted for WDL from the DarkStarSword WD2 fix
- "Volumetric/Dynamic Lights" adjusted for WDL from the DarkStarSword WD2 fix
- "Lens/Light Flares" adjusted for WDL from the DarkStarSword WD2 fix
- Falling object desync fix adjusted for WDL from the DarkStarSword WD2 fix
- Shadows (Losti)
- Soft-Shadows (Losti)
- Lights (Losti)
- Refelctions/SSR (Losti)
- Clipping (Losti)
- Skybox and Horizon including clouds (Losti)
- Dithering texture flicker (Losti)
- UI/HUD including Outlines (Losti)
- Game Profile for max FPS (Losti)
- Water (Losti)
- Halos (Losti)
- Light Shafts (Losti)
- Light Cones (Losti)
- Glas and it's Refletion (Losti)

Issues Left
- Input lags because of shader caching can occure even if I have cached many of it!, it will be more cool the more you play.
- Menu mouse depth can be too high, press F10 to fix if this annoys you
- Refletions at HIGH/ULTRA are not 100 % fixed
- You may have some flipping shadow/not in depth or some texture @ screen depth because some RegEx fixes are false pos. or not individual enougth. This was the hardest thing in this game to "sync" this. I have never experianced this within 1 hr. of gameplay but IT CAN HAPPEN but should not be game breaking. I i find those things, ill update the fix after complete gameplay.

Version History
- V.1.00 - Inofficial initial release - 07.03.2021
- V.1.01 - Official release - 08.03.2021
----------- Fixed some initial Menu/Loading issues where mouse is too high in depth
- V.1.10 - 14.03.2021
----------- Fixed some crash due to some ShaderRegEx related to Auto Convergence
----------- AutoConvergence feature removed due to its performance impact using RegEx
----------- 1 Shadow i have found that was not fix is fixed now
----------- Enabled V-Sync in driver profile (with FPS limit 58) for fixing screen tearing, configured to ensure 100 % GPU usage as before without V-Sync in V 1.00
----------- Added a link here in the performance section i have missed to add, that you shoud follow!

Installation
- Make sure you install the Driver 452.06 with Driver hack prior a DDU cleaneup! Do not use a previews driver, OR dont complain about possible crashes. You can use this tool to let the driver installation and DDU clean up as well as the driver hack (on demad) beeing done for you nearly automatically: viewtopic.php?f=105&t=25361
- Download the Fix: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2021/06/wa ... v-200.html
- Uninstall all prev. fixes completely by removing the ShaderFixes folder
- Extract the complete archive to the "bin" directory in your game diretory, e.g.: D:\Games\WatchDogsLegion\bin\
- right click the WatchDogsLegion.exe, choose properties, to to the compatibility tab, check "Run as administrator" and "Disable Fullscreen optimization"
- Start the game using the start.cmd, or as usual BUT: add "-BattlEyeLauncher" (without "") to your launchers options

Performance
- I found the game to be extremely "RAM hungry".
- I then found evidence of this on the Internet (https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performanc ... -end-cpus/).
- Check the page and see what you can achieve by updating your system memory. RAM with 4266 MHZ is around 160 € this time. ITS WORTH IT !!!
- I have cached arround 60 % of the complete game shaders for you to reduce input lags! But it can happen in some areas i have not completely cached that you expeciane input lags ONCE until shaders are cached.
- Auto Convergence costs arround 10-20 % performance if enabled it, so if you need FPS and do not need this, skipp this!
- Framlais reported that there is not a huge difference between 1080TI and 2080 TI, im not sure about lower GPUs but for sorue you need a high performance GPU for this game, even in 2D!
- You should also follow this guide for optimization of WDL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8Vu0j5WJO4

Game Setup
- Enter the ingame options and choose the ULTRA graphic preset! <-- MENDATORY, if you do not do this, you experiance massive HALOS, no matter what you manually chosse!
- Restart the game, if the game suggests it, press OK, if not, restart manually!
- Returned to the game you can set your desired settings manually, DO NOT do this via the graphic presets!
- Do not choose Shadows lower than "VERY HIGH"
- Everything else is up to you, but i suggest this for not noticable disadvantages and higher FPS:
-- FXAA, other settings here can have light flare clipping
-- FOV: 70 (you can rise this but this highly afflicts performance!)
-- Geometry: "VERY HIGH"
-- Environment: "HIGH"
-- Texture Resolution: "MEDIUM"
-- Texture Filter: "HIGH"
-- Shadows: "VERY HIGH"
-- Spotlight Shadows: "2 cars"
-- Reflections: "ULTRA" -- NOTE: Minor issues her but lowering to HIGH or below will give you FAKE reflections that are much more "uncool"
-- DOF: OFF
-- Motion Blure: OFF
-- BLOOM: ON
-- AO: ON
-- VOl. Spread: "HIGH"

Keys
- Adjust HUD/UI Depth that is not auto controlled by "NUMPAD *" and "NUMPAD /"
- Adjust Minimap symbol depth by "NUMPAD -" if its slighty out of depth and ot bothers you
- Choose convergence by "." and ","
- Use "#~" (EN-keyboard) / "°^" (DE-keyboard) / "XB_GUIDE" for low convergence mode

SORRY, bad news, this is a way too hard for me, after 1 day i was not able to fix anything more than the decals. Game uses high amount of Compute Shaders that are hard to hunt and handle and very uncommon shadow things happens her in the VS......

I have skipped the fix attempt, SORRY

I have made some Reshade Superdepth 3D preset working really nice for this game.

I have used the VR version of Superdepth that works much better adjusting the things, dont know why. HIGH depth with compared minor noticable halo!!!

May you want to try this and report back! I for one are IMPRESSED about the state it is now!!!!!!

NOTE: You may need to inverse 3D @ your projector settings, some games needs this (for me), some not and it depends on the startup, sometimes i need it, sometimes i dont need it for the same game: MEANS do NOT inverse 3D in the Reshade-Setings, if the screen pops out, do it @ your projector!

You can try the 3D only version and the other setting containing some light tweeks, but not sure if this is cool for your projector.

I suggest to enable sharpen in NVCP with 0.75 and ignore Film Grain at 1.00, as well as enable FXAA and MFAA to clear fonts.

Fantastic news, Losti! Thank you for trying to fix this, WD2 is one of my favourite games ever, and it would be great to play the next one in 3D!
I'm one of the unlucky old farts who can no longer stand playing in 2D, or even fake 3D, so without a fix I will miss out on this game.
Is the game interesting?
Is performance good?

Reviews were good for it. Performance though...it's a VERY demanding game, you can find youtube benchmarks for your card, likely. My 2060 doesn't even seem enough for lowest settings in 3D :(

I've no idea if this is the first or only game using it, but Nvidia's new NRD technology is implemented.

Just an FYI, for those interested in this type of stuff.

https://news.developer.nvidia.com/nvidi ... gs-legion/

“We’ve been really pleased with NVIDIA’s solution; it allows us to make the very best of our ray budget, delivering exceptional quality without compromising performance.”

50% Performance Over SVGF (Nvidia's 2017 denoising solution)

Yep it works very nice with Superdepth3D RayTracing max , DLSS etc... Sadly no RT with Dx11 so with 3Dvision too for the moment ;)

Is this game currently playable with the WIP fix and performance is ok? I only ask because an online update is coming march 9 and it sounds like they are gonna use a new anti cheat, or new version of it from the following ign article:

https://www.ign.com/articles/watch-dogs ... on-preview

“Some of the issues that you specifically hit were from the latest version of our anti-cheat that we had put in,” Thillainathan told me. “Our anti-cheat was being a little too aggressive to say the least, and it was kicking you.”

I remember Wildlands worked fine with fake 3D methods until an update made bypassing EAC impossible, after that only basic CM was possible. I figure maybe I should pick this up and try to finish it before this update breaks things...anyone playing it with Losti's fix?

Ok I visited Losti's discord and see he's still working on it, so its best to wait for the finished fix. I will cross my fingers Ubisoft does not mess things up with the anti cheat update...

The perpetually indefatigable Losti strikes again ...

Congratulations sir, you are amazing. Counting Masterotaku's fix for Nioh 2, that's 2 high profile games recently worked on. It's very exciting to see this happening, even if I don't have as much time to play as in the past.
And who knows what surprises await from the mysterious Helifax ...

I'm taking these as good signs for 2021. We really need a bit of normality and stability, in all this craziness.
Thank you Losti, and all good members of this community. You bring rays of hope and happiness in a dark world.
