Hi
Just bought newest LG 38GL950G-B. Will arrive soon. My hope his Nano-led technology with 3,5ms b/w response time (actually tests, not the manufacturing marketing promises) should be able to perform 3DV. Is there some instructions, how to edid override the Monitor???
I have already done this before with one of ACER’s 32” VA panel, but with no success – 3DV ready was it, but no 3d effect at all). Can somebody provide me a link to instructions for 3d override procedure.
Thanks in advance

That monitor wont work. Why did you think it would work in the first place?

That monitor can 144Hz in Normal mode (175 Hz in override) (So - 120 for active 3D not a problem).
My ASUS 27" TN 3D Ready monitor - 144Hz (120Hz in 3D mode) and 2ms responce time black to white.
So i see both monitor as pretty similar in specs. Of course i expect some ghosting effects, but still..

I'm not sure if there is a guide but I'm sure there are other threads on here that will contain instructions, even if it's one of the projector or oled threads.Chip23 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 2:15 am Hi

Basically you can just switch the 'monitor driver', or you can use Custom Resolution Editor.
Does that LG have and MBR/BFI/Strobing options? You'll probably need those..

Thanks for the info
As i know - ULMB, LightBoost, etc in ASUS goes automaticaly disabled, as soon the monitor turn to 3D mode strong in 120Hz mode, so as like g-sync and so on also desabled. Stereo Driver take Control over syncranisation and Managing Frames Output and 3D emmiter to shutter glasses.
I look Forward all the treads.

As far as I know, VRR and gsync/freesync aren't compatible with 3d at all, but that is because active 3d is linked to a fixed back-light strobing frequency.Chip23 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 7:27 am Thanks for the info

Lightboost is basically ulmb, but designed to work for active frame sequential 3d, which is why you lose control over those features when 3d is enabled.
When you get the monitor please update this thread.

Yes - wenn monitor are G-Sync, by activating in Control Panel 3D Option, G-Sync will be automatically switched off.
The same is with ULMB.
Ok. I try to edid override the Driver and will see what hapens.

Good reference for EDID modification - see https://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... 81&t=23495. In another forum thread (requires more search), at least one member tried to get 3D Vision glasses/emitter with EDID to work with more recent 120 Hz 2D LG OLED TVs, but the ghosting at top/bottom of screen was too bad.
Dual boot VR/3D Vision disk partitioning (multiple SSDs). 3D Vision - Windows 10 v1809, 425.31 driver, 32 GB, i9-9900X@4.5 GHz, hybrid-cooled 2080Ti, 4K LG E6 OLED TV with EDID. VR/geo-11 - 3080Ti with Vive Pro 2, also have Aero, wireless lens-modified Vive Pro, Index, Reverb G2, Pimax 8K.
