Trouble connecting to wii remote plus

Hi there,
I have always wanted to try and use a wii remote as a mouse on my PC. I purchased this controller on amazon:

I managed to get it connected via bluetooth and it says connected.
First I tried glove pie and it did not seem to find the deivce. So I found out about freepie and the interface seems a bit more up-to-date. However, I am unsure what script to use for the wii remote plus? I tried finding a few online, but nothing seemed to work yet. Is there something else I need to do to get freepie working with the wii remote plus aside from just running a script? How can I tell if the wii remote is connected or not with freepie? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
