The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan

Post by 3DNovice »

Thanks maurizioclaudio21 for posting a solution to improve this game on the old forums.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... shighligh/

I made the changes to the 3DMigoto ini as described, but weird thing is, I can not find configuration files anywhere for the engine.ini. I even re-verified the game files via Steam.

Anyhow, that's not the problem. Problem is, it will not launch in 3D, I'm on W7 using 372.90 and 3D works fine on other UE4 games.

I put the the game fix in by the exe in the game folder and also tried by the exe in the binaries folder.

Anyhow, any suggestions would be welcome. I'm headed out of town for two months but would love to play this when I get back.

Also a complete fix posted on the blog would certainly be a plus :)

Update your driver! BUT: I am not sure if this is the problem but it really legacy!

I will check this game with the universal fix 2 for UE4 engine but you have to ensure that MIGOTO is working ^^ you have done something wrong!

Thanks for the reply and looking at it.

The game is short but has decent reviews.

It's the first in a series of short stand-alone stories by the Devs that released Until Dawn on the PS4.

Sometime in 2020, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will release.

Everything is cool here, there are some mono things that you can disable if you want. But its basically working great. Please ensure to set FULL SCREEN after the game start in the graphic options!!!

you need to intstall the univeral fix to this folder!!!:

...\The Dark Pictures Anthology Man of Medan\SMG019\Binaries\Win64

https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2020/01/t ... medan.html

NOTE: MONO LIGHT ISSUES LEFT: Please read the section Troubleshooting here to learn how to disable a wrong shader (Ref: "Basic instructions to disable a wrong shader")

if everything works, find the file engine
Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ManOfMedan\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\
you put the fix where is it Man of Medan Win64-Shipping.exe?

I have fixed the mono lights and the interaction symbol is now in depth.

//EDITH: I have found the problem for the auto convergence, i think i have to do some rerelease of the universal fix :-)

OK here is the game with auto convergence and possible auto depth HUD if you want:

Thanks for the reply maurizioclaudio21, I looked everywhere for those files. I checked PCGamingWiki and it indicated users/appdata/local, but they were not there either.

Thanks again Losti for looking at this, I'll play it when I get home from working out of town in about two months. I leave Tuesday, but have a lot to do before then.

Indeed they are now there, odd they did not generate the first time, but I must not have saved. Looking forward to playing this during my next home-time.

@Losti, thanks again for this fix, the game was great with 3D. The faces in the cutscene close ups were
pretty realistic. But what stuck out at the time was the animation of the characters.

Looking through the folders I saw IKINEMA was used. I'm not sure what the first Hellblade game used for motion capture,
other than Face Rig for her head. But the new upcoming Hellblade will be using IKINEMA, so the animations will be even better.

IKINEMA is integrated into UE4 and has also been integrated into Unity and Ubisoft now.

But recently Apple bought them for their Augmented Reality and whatever else.
