Control 3D-Vision fix [RELEASED]

Post by Losti »

Work on Time currently - 82 hrs
==> Respect this work! If you want me to continue shaderhacking you should show your appreciation with "some" domation after the relase of this fix! No one would ever work for this hourly compensation that we will get for our work!!! Just think about it!!! MANY hours of work are behind a 3D fix you may simply download and enjoy without giving something back!

Donations are welcome !!!

Latest Update: V1.00 - 06.10.2019
- release
- NOTE: Only for DX11, Ray Tracing and DLSS may not supported, disable it in game options

1. Fixed

- ps shaodws (Losti)
- cs shaodws (Losti)
- ps lights (Losti)
- cs lights (Losti)
- vs lights (Losti)
- light cones (Losti)
- hud (Losti)
- halos (Losti)
- screen space reflections (SSR) (Losti)
- global reflections (Losti)
- gs fog (Losti)
- decals (Masterotaku)
- additional effects never seen but may be there in the game, shaders taken from shader cache, fix applyed from Masterotakus Quantum Break Fix

2. Issues left

- some AO shadows seems to be not cool if standing near objects
- SSR is not even 100 % ok
- global reflections will have motion sickness while moving and burn in particles if stand still, cured by moving (disable global reflections in game options if you can't live with that)
- HUD texture update is delayed sometimes resulting in some HUD glitches or too much depth for some HUD-textures, read section 5 for curing options via keys
- motion sickness for SSR, also present in 2D and without any fix (means they are slighly out of depth while moving
- strange reflection appearance, some reflections having strange lines or particle like appearance, this is also present in 2D without any fix
- any fixed effect in the game (shadows, lights, reflections) will became a view millisecond out of depth, the correction is done a little bit slower than the display of it
- HUD glitches for enemy target marks and health bars, some of the textures are a bit out of depth

Gamebreaking issues ? Please provide a savegame!!!

We are looking forward. :woot Thanks losti
The physics engine of this game is incredible. Experiencing 3D can be great.

I hope my processor is enough. In quntumbreak (Remedy), the hyper threading feature of the cpu had to be turned off. this method increased 15fps.

----60 hrs work!!!----

PLEASE try this state of the fix and tell me what you are thinking about !!

Nearly everything is fixed here.

- Some reflection issues left. MotionSickness for global ground reflections with burn in particles sometimes if standing still. NOT FIXABLE !!!! Turn of global Reflections in game if its annoying!
- HUD still needs some optimization!
- minor relfection/light/shadow issues in some angels of view

Gamebreaking issues ? Please provide a savegame!!!

https://losti.s3.amazonaws.com/Contro_3 ... _Losti.zip

THIS IS A PRE RELASE, means everything is fixed as good as i can so far and should be working really fine in general!!!

ENJOY and give me a feedback please!!!

PS Please use maxed out settings, one RegEx is need to implement for CS shadows that are incorrect using lower settings!!!

The HUD is very strange to fix, one texture hash for many many different textues, never have had this before !!!

VERY STRANGE and difficult to track the things for differente situations down. But i am near to complete, i think i can release the fix today.

//EDIT: Some delay here because of some HUD incorrectness in several areas, fixed now and some more effects. Need to get some sleep now. But tomorrow i am finished ! or lets say today ^^ Its 3 AM here.

Ähm, i dont need savegames, i have a complete finished savegame where i can choose every missuon to check several places ^^

GOOD NIGHT °_°

Hey, thx for that work, will def. support it. Ok, I have to admit, at thirst I thought something must be wrong. But I did forget - I did start the DX12 Version and 3DMigoto is DX11
Yeah, as far as I could test, only Hud and some reflections are off.

Did also test the gallery here (How To), too sad it has some problems.

Stuttering? With that setup? I am still on Core i5 3470s, GTX 980, 8GB, 425.11, win 10 1903 18362.388 and I don't experience such stuttering. May it be a software issue? Even if you think you're not https://www.techsupportalert.com/conten ... fected.htm has some good methods to show ALL the tools that do start at your pc. You may also want to try https://github.com/dragokas/hijackthis/ and if you're unsure you can post results here.

EDIT: I am not sure if the following is still valid:

Wow Losti, this game in 3D is :woot

Picked it up the other day, and the only reason I did is because you made a fix for it. Its way better than it looks from watching videos, I would say this is the best Remedy game so far (at least for gameplay).

I had to turn global reflections off, but everything else looks fantastic. I also found the shader for the white object outlines once you get the Launch ability, and disabled those. They really kill the immersion, the Devs really should have given an option to turn them off. Game is perfectly playable without them, and looks so much better too. In fact I turned off all the hud options except for the single reticle, game is totally playable without all the enemy health, ammo, and energy bars constantly reminding you that you are playing a video game.

Donation incoming, thanks for all the hard work on this one. It s a true 3D showcase!!! :polarized

If you can give me a savegame and tell me how to see this effect or a screenshot i can make a toggle key for this, may other users will have the same meaning.

Please do make a toggle key for those effects, I also hate healtbars, outlines and not least hit numbers in especially Japanese game, it totally ruins the experience IMO

And THX for the fix Losti :)

You need a toggle key for disable the outlines? No Problem, please onlyconfirm that this is what you want here. Outlines are separate shaders here and i can add a key for disable.

What key is suitible for this game and not used by default ?? Can you suggest a Key i can use?

For the rest of the hud its not simply possible. ALL HUD of is not a pfoblem but only some elements will force to track down texture hashes and so on and for this game ONE hash will control several things. For example he crosshair texture hash will also beeing used by many other texture elements. As well as the Hit Numbers. This often is conrolled by a sahder that also draws the rest of the font in a game. So this is not possible, esxcept disable all the HUD.

Hi Losti,

I attached a game save if you need it for the outlines toggle. I didn't bother before since I didn't think anyone else would care, and didn't want to make more work for you. Good to see someone else hates unnecessary HUD elements as much as I do Blacksmith :D

The hash of the ps shader I used was hash=6026336734fff8a3

Don't worry about the rest of the HUD, each element can be disabled by standard settings in the game. The object outlines were the only thing with no setting, they appear once you aquire the Launch ability. Just look around and the objects you look at should display a white outline. This save game has all areas unlocked too, if you need to fast travel to different areas.

Good game, will be interested to see what the DLC story addons look like

Thanks for the fix Losti, played the game for 8 hours and it was a very good S3D experience.

Looks like there's no Heavy Rain thread, also tried that game and it's perfect in 3D, so thanks for that too, amazing job. It's one of the rare games where I can play it in 4K mostly 60fps without need of upscaling.

Thank you but in this case i dont need a savegame ^^ the game has tons of outlines and i have written a RegEx for this, means i only have to add a key to the migoto ini and some lines into the RegEx. I havnt started the game to test but this should work here:

https://losti.s3.amazonaws.com/Control_ ... rotaku.zip

Can you please try it?

If you dont want to copy it completely folder (because you have made some changes or whatever ^^) you only have to replace the Control_ShaderRegEx_Losti.ini in the ShaderFix folder with the one from the archive above and add this in the constant section and key section in d3dx.ini:

Constant section, add this:

Code: Select all

;Outlines, 1 = on by default, 0 = off
x50=1.0
Key section add this:

Code: Select all

[Key_DisableOutlines]
key = VK_DIVIDE
x50=0.0
type=toggle
==> OF COURSE you can just copy the whole things over :-)

The key for disable outlines is "/" on NUMPAD.

If you permanentely want to disable the outlines even if you press F10 or restart the game, set x50 to zero in the constant section:

Code: Select all

;Outlines, 1 = on by default, 0 = off
x50=0.0

Thank You Losti :D

I just started, looks fantastic!

Per Blog Post Recommendations, maxed out on settings, 2560x1440, Vsync On, No Sli - 34fps, with Sli ON - 64fps, mind you staring at the wall, but sli and 3D fix :D :D - Thanks Again!

djb

Edit: Actually, Vsync "off" in game, and in NVCP for that game (Program Setting): Vertical Sync: On (smooth) - works best for this setup.

Hi losti ,
You're great man, although there are some unfixed, control 3dfix looks awesome. Thanks I just started playing.
problem still persists. In some objects, 3dfix does not work properly. The outlines in these objects do not disappear with the method you propose. it would be great if you could make these objects look smooth. I can help you test.

two different objects in the same place gave different results.

Code: Select all

[Key_DisableOutlines]
key=home
z7=0.0
type=toggle

[ShaderOverride_DOutlines]
hash=6026336734fff8a3

If you have a Problem with a remaining unfixed effect i Need a savegame for this to adress the issue.

Ist a pitty, some one request a Thing and ask for some think like here for a disable key, i try to make this and ask for Feedback and ... nothing. So this means it works but ist too hard to leave a reply here or it doesnt work or doesnt matter anymore.

SO THANK YOU for your Feedback. I came back to this the next days when i find some time.

I guess you are aiming at me here Losti, thats ok but my problem is that I haven't started the game yet, hence the missing feedback :)

Also I don't see why it shouldn't work for Timfx7, outlines are most likely only one shader, Tim could try enabling shaderhunting himself and find a responsible shader!

Outlines are fixed by RegEx, so if there is a outline like i can see at the Screen that is unfixed (2D at Screen) than the RegEx is missing it. The game has tons of outline sahders, hance i have done the fix in RegEx.

Would be cool if i can have a savegame for this Problem, than i add anoter RegEx and the not fixed outlines should be fixed. Can be that there is a third one or so, so just a savegame and i will make it.

PS: That explains why the DisableOutline Thing is not working, because this is done in the RegEx. But nor RegEx, no Fix, no disable .-)

Thanks , I think you misunderstood me. hash=6026336734fff8a3 This method it works. (google translate sometimes does not translate correctly.)
but I don't actually want the outlines removed all the time. ;)

Thank you Losti.

In Missions list, start DLC mission that appears in pink letters. you can see the problem at the beginning of the mission.
Control Screenshot

.

Is it possible to popout the subtitles ?

Also, I've edited the fix to delete blur and lower even more the convergence for the cutscenes with + and -, cause it was still to much. AutoConvergence like in Fallen Order would have been really great here...

Result in fast movement with no blur anymore: (3D up to 27" screens)

And SLI is working like a charm !

3DFix v1.01 without blur + more and lowered convergence settings:

Cheers all, and thanks to Losti and friends, as usual, great job, 3D will live forever (I hope) !

I've been trying to get the Control fix to work on my system, but it keeps crashing. I'm running Win 10 1909 and Nvidia 441.41 using the Hex edit method. Other games work in 3D but Control keeps crashing. I have the fix loaded through 3Dfix manager.

Everything seems to be going fine and the game loads and starts to run. It doesn't start in 3D but I can switch it on and everything seems to work at first: depth, convergence. Then in a minute or two th game crashes usually taking down my GPU and whole system.

It looks great in real 3D for the minute or two I have it up. is there something I'm missing? Has anyone else encountered this or know of a workaround?

Thanks!

Is this also happens without the 3D-Fix?

You can enable the Crash workarround in the d3dx.ini, may it helps. Uncomment this line ;APP_COMPAT_SHIM = 2 and set it to 1 (APP_COMPAT_SHIM = 1)
