Is there any way to get a sync from DisplayPort?

Hello everyone,

I have a 144hz monitor using DP that has no ir emmiter, and I want to do 3d independent of gpu and monitor (120hz+ and DP the only reqs).
Is there anyway to extract (if exists, DP sends data) a sync pulse (or construct)? A DP to VGA adapter somehow does it. Also a DP to DVI somehow does it (sync in DVI is hidden in the blue channel, I have seen on this forum a DVI sync splitter, but I want to focus on DP as its futureproof.
So any ideas??

It appears that the user is seeking advice on how to extract or construct a sync pulse to enable 3D independent of their GPU and monitor, with a 144Hz monitor using DP and no IR emitter. They are interested in exploring whether it is possible to do this through a DP to VGA or DP to DVI adapter, and are looking for suggestions on how to achieve this.
