The BenQ XL2730Z is a new addition to the famed ‘XL Series’ of gaming monitors with Adaptive-Sync as a headline feature.
The current press image seems to feature the ‘3D’ indicator light, but it isn’t clear whether this model will support Nvidia 3D Vision. Since it wasn’t mentioned in the press release and the monitor makes provisions for a technology that only AMD will support for the foreseeable future, it seems unlikely.
The current information from BenQ suggests that the model uses the AUO M270Q002 V0 which is a 27” TN (Twisted Nematic) panel sporting a 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution, as seen on the ROG SWIFT. This is driven at a 144Hz refresh rate which is variable once Adaptive-Sync is enabled. Currently Adaptive-Sync requires an AMD GPU that is compatible with ‘FreeSync’ – as an alternative to Nvidia’s G-SYNC technology which works on compatible Nvidia GPUs only.
BenQ’s 27-inch XL2730Z monitor ensures gamers stay on the leaderboard by providing a WQHD 2560 x 1440 gateway into the fast-action world of gaming. Equipped with Gaming Refresh-rate Optimization Management (GROM), gamers gain the freedom to custom-build their personal gaming experience by tweaking viewing preferences such as refresh rates, display resolutions, and screen sizes...
