Yeah, actually doesn't look like a bad design for conventional gamers. I like the way he's taken the disadvantages of the eliptical (balance problems) and made it into a feature, by having you hold the gun. It actually looks quite fun to use as well. Obviously he's put some thought into it, with the jumping and crouching feature as well.

This new compact elliptical trainer is very cool.
If there would be a mechanism to make it o-direcional/steerable it would be a nice fit for VR.
Although step length comes a bit short on this design.
