Using bluetooth keyboard or Synergy for 'wireless' rift

Here's a cool hack I've discovered while experimenting. Perhaps this is what other people are doing, but I haven't read it yet so I thought I'd add it to the knowledge base here in case it helps someone.
I have a spare laptop which I installed synergy on (this would work with a bluetooth keyboard as well). I then hang the rift down from the ceiling and so when I'm sitting on my rotating chair, I can use it 'wirelessly' (ie, don't get tangled up in the cables)
One thing to keep in mind is to tape the control box to the rift itself, as that cable can't be extended and if it twists it could break and you'd be out a rift. Instead, I bought extension HDMI/USB/Power and bundled them all up into one cable which I hang from the ceiling / down along the wall into the Rift PC.
