GAMEPLAY
In each room of the three leveled house, you will find clues and furniture you can interact with.
By pressing E near a clue, you will hear my sensual voice giving you my conclusions about it.
By pressing E near a piece of furniture, you will move it to see if a clue is hidden under it.
When you think you have the identity of the killer, you will have to answer a quizz: who is the killer, what clues did he left... And for bonus points, try to determine if the other suspects also have something to hide.
It was tested by about ten friends and members of my family. The average duration of the game was between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 (quizz included). All the persons that managed to find the identity of the killer did so by checking if each of the suspect's alibi was plausible according to the clues they left.

WHY I WANTED TO DO THAT GAME
VRInvestigation uses the capacity of the Oculus to make you see details you would barely notice on a computer screen: glass marks on a table, blood drops on the floor... I even wrote a full letter myself and took a picture of it to put it in the game, but it's not readable with the current Dev Kit (maybe with the HD screen?)

I look forward for your advices and critics. I'll always be there if you have any question!

Stay safe and don't get yourself killed in the Rift, or you might end up in one of my next games!

This is literally the first time I've seen someone selling a made-for-Rift application.

Is this the first example? (excluding kickstarter projects)

As far as I know yes. I had to look for a site to sell it. And I still have a lot of troubles letting the rifters know about it. So I'm open to any advices!

@Okta: I like your reaction! ^^

@Jose: I'm from France. Gumroad, the website I'm currently using to sell the game, only accepts card. But I'm going to upload the game somewhere else as soon as possible, and then I'll be able to accept paypal. I'll let you know when it's possible!

I just finished the first update for VRInvestigation.

New menu
Firstly you will be greeted by a very basic menu, that only contains a
logo, a play and an exit buttons.
But the real menu is in game. You will start in a dark room, with all the
instructions written on the walls. There are also two doors, one that
start the game and one that close it. You can go back to that room
whenever you want to reread the instructions.

Easier objects interactions
I haven't created a crosshair or highlighted the items yet, but I have
increased the zones of interaction for the items, so it should be a lot
easier to activate them.

Looks cool, maybe add some more props, especially the walls and floors looks a bit boring. Maybe add a carpet, some paintings and or some tapestry?

Hello,
Can you tell me by email antoine@rigitano.com what is your paypal name? Then I'll answer this email with a link to the game.

@virror: I'm working on it :)

Looks cool. Almost looks like a graphical version of the old classic infocom adventure, 'Deadline'. That was always my fave infocom game (not that I ever completed it).

Can someone who has purchased/played VRInvestigation, please provide a review?

I'd also be interested in hearing more reviews, but I can already provide one here:

Is this playable without a Rift?

I am currently riftless, but I would pay $1 to check this out.

Yes and no.

Yes, as it only displays the stereoscopic view if you have the rift plugged in.

But as wearing the rift gives us a very different distance to the objects, I placed the trigger point to the clues right where your eyes are while wearing the rift, so they should be easy to interact with. This means the game is not optimized to play without it: you could have difficulties triggering the clues.

So for example instead of pressing E once on your keyboard to trigger the clue, you may have to press it five times before you can find the right trigger point. If you are still alright with this, then you can perfectly finish the game without the Oculus.

If enough people are interested, I could make a second version optimized for regurlar computer playing. But if not, I already have a lot of work improving VRInvestigation and working on my next game ^^

New update for the game!

What is new :
-by default, the view should be in stereoscopy when you start the game. So you don't have to prompt the console anymore
-most rooms now have paintings and posters on their walls
-the game is now available in French aswell as in English
