Steam launch options not working!

Post by 2EyeGuy »

On my computer, steam launch options do not work at all, are not saved on the computer, and are not passed to the game at all.

So, for example, to run Portal 2 without the Razer Hydra, I have to run it from the command line and specify -nosixense there.

For Team Fortress 2, running from the command line gives you an error about the game txt file. So it's not possible to specify -vr there either.

The only way I could get TF2 to run with command line options (and thus to enable VR), was to make a shortcut like this:

Code: Select all

C:\steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 440 -nointro -vr
Command line options USED TO work in steam on my computer, I don't know why they are no longer saved.

I don't know if anyone else's steam is bugged like that. But if it is, maybe that will help you.

Does it work if you add the options to the steam game launcher itself, to play half life I simply joined the beta and then edited the launch options of that game (rather than steam.exe)

Just notice steam wants another 100 meg off me so can't look now
