Pokemon3D - A Perfect Fit For the Oculus Rift

Post by Marulu »

I recently ran across a indie Pokemon fan game for PC, called Pokemon 3D.
Pokemon 3D is a first person remake of Pokemon Gold/Silver for the PC which currently is in alpha.
The look of the game instantly reminded me of minecraft, which recently got modded for the Oculus Rift.
With the sense of scale being very good in minecraft I think this game would be a perfect fit for the Rift.

Wouldn't it be amazing to explore the world of Pokemon trough your own eyes?
It would be nice if you guys could bug, I mean kindly suggest the dev to add Oculus Rift support to his game!
If the dev notices many people being interest in Rift support he might consider looking into it.

You can find the indiedb page of the game below:

The game apparently has been out since august and has not yet been shut down.
But I really don´t think Nintendo is going to shut this down because there are hundreds of Pokemon fan game out there and they haven´t done anything about them. (There even is a really active Pokemon MMORPG)

No those retro fitting methods won´t work because the game doesn´t use DirectX.

The guys at 3dizzy.com are currently working on implementing head tracking.
They said they are going to finish the mod over the next week.
Once they are done implementing Rift support they are going to release the files required to mod the game.

I am going to report back here once they are done.

Sadly there isn´t any news about Pokemon 3D on the Rift.
I hope the guys at 3Dizzy are going to release the mod soon.
