More interesting would be if still is working someone on it. Pre4 is old now and there is a new Rift SDK out, but not much activities here.

I'm getting domain errors trying to load anything from repo.minecraft-vr.com. Is the domain genuinely messed up, or is it my internet?

As cool as this is I really want to play it on 1.4.7. However the cloudbees hasn't been re-provisioned and I am unable to access anything lower than 1.6.4. Any way you could fix this?

I'm trying to run the Traincraft forge mod for 1.6.4, but it keeps crashing anytime I place a locomotive or rolling stock. Any suggestions? I'm using Minecrift 1.6.4 b12 Forge(v953) without the Razer Hydra. I have a feeling that Optifine's the culprit. Is there a way to disable it?

Hey i had the same problem but i new i had a similar problem and was able to fix it with another mod i installed a while back.. so i went looking for a fix, and found one.. :D which is simple really
i found that the reason they would not download is that the page its trying to download off is no longer there.. (where it says it is..;p) so your most likely missing 4 files like i was, the good news is that the 4 files are available to download straight from where that link is supposed to be pointing..

so here they are.. (for each one click on the "view Raw" button on each page and it should download the jar file.. at least it did on my browser..)
I have shown the "Default" directory that .Minecraftis located in of course.. (C:Users...so on)

https://github.com/mabrowning/minecrift ... le-1.0.jar
this one goes in your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\aib42\mumblelink\JMumble

https://github.com/mabrowning/minecrift ... indows.jar
this one goes in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\aib42\mumblelink\JMumbleLibrary

https://github.com/mabrowning/minecrift ... .4.4.0.jar
this one goes in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\de\fruitfly\ovr\JRift\0.4.4.0

AND LASTLY..
https://github.com/mabrowning/minecrift ... indows.jar
this one goes in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\de\fruitfly\ovr\JRiftLibrary\0.4.4.0

It should work now, IF you have done everything else correctly..

Is there an issue with Minecrift Xbox controller support?

Most recent version from what I can tell. Minecrift 1.8.1 PRE2 VR

I can't tell what I'm doing wrong or if it's a bug. I found the option under VR settings to enable controller but in the map keys window they all show up greyed out and I can't choose any of them.

Is this a known issue or am I missing something.

None of the key remap choices are clickable.

I tried asking on reddit with no joy . Anyone else able to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

Does anyone know of a way to make minecrift work with forge 1.7.10.

It appears that the 1.8 pre2 no longer supports forge either. I was going to try the 1.6.4 version, but i was reading that it is not compatible with dk2.

As much fun as vanilla minecraft is I would like to play feed the beast with minecrift.

Hi guys, hi have a problem with the 1.8.1 version, the full screen mode works but menus become black and the VR is compromised: with the left eye I can see normal, but in the right eye I see the world with strange black textures or transparent, seems something like a "negative" of the normal colours.. sorry for my bad english!

Hey,

Can you please add some support for GLSL Shaders (like SUES)

It would look amazing, and also map making trying to make something very real, this support would help out a lot.

I know some asked in the passed but was put off, wondered if now is a better time?

Thank you.

Great work on the Minecrift mod! I'm just wondering though, is there a problem with performance at the moment? I'm getting around 45 fps on my DK2 with a GTX 980 which doesn't seem right for such a graphically simple game. As a result, Minecrift is unplayable right now. This is in direct-to-rift mode. If I'm using extended mode, the performance seems to drop even more, weirdly.

Any chance on an update on the release of the forge version you hinted at on reddit? hmmm? :)

Fantastic work guys. With the latest update, shaders are working!

Here's something of a showcase video I made. Enjoy!

Thanks! I am curious about the framerate though, as even I didn't think it would be as bad as it was.

I was getting about 15 FPS with those shaders before I sped up the video.

Keep getting this error with the 1.7.10 installer.
Failed: Couldn't extract Minecrift. Try redownloading this installer.
Any known fixes?

PS-Yes i already tried to reinstall it.

Hey! Quick question, so I'm on an Apple computer from 2011 (Hopefully getting an ASUS laptop before summer ends) with a DK2, and just installed the R1c update. Things we're all good for two days, until all of a sudden, it just stopped detecting the oculus completely.

I've tried rebooting the launcher, rebooting the computer, reinstalling both the runtime and the minecrift installer, and nothing has seemed to work. When I look at the game output, it says it created a "dummy DK1 device" due to no oculus device being found. Then it says:

"Error: {ERR-001} [Session] REJECTED: OVRService did not authorize us: Incompatible protocol version. Please make sure your OVRService and SDK are both up to date."

This message only appears once if I shut down the window soon as the game starts, if I leave it open for a little bit it can go up to 3 or 4. I've tried to find a way to update the OVRservice on mac and have had no such luck. I really want to know why minecrift just stopped working for me out of the blue, any and all help is beyond appreciated! Thanks in advance! <3

I got the exact same error when I first installed it. No joke, I just created a new minecraft profile manually, then told it to use version "minecrift-1.7.10-R1c-nohydra".

If that doesn't help then I don't know sorry :?

Currently this is only working with the older version of the SDK and runtime, as the mod hasn't been updated in several months. You will need to downgrade to an older version of the Oculus Runtime.

Tip if you cannot run the downloaded installer:
I was stumped for weeks, why nothing happened when I tried to run the downloaded installer
for e.g. 1.8.1. No error, nothing.

I finally found out it was because I didn't have the Java SDK installed
(my machine had JRE though.)
I'm not sure exactly what it was, but as soon as I installed Java SDK,
i could suddenly run the installer and everything worked.

Possibly, it was a 32bit/64bit issue.. Maybe I had a java for one of them,
and the installer expected the other one..

Great Job guys.

Tonight i gonna make a lot of tests with pre-build ModPacks from FTB, and feedback to you with the results.

I'm using minecrift-1.7.10-R2b, and I'm noticing an odd minor issue..

Basically, the head-angle tracking yaw-axis seems to have a slight latency lag to it, and it's only the yaw, pitch and roll, and positional tracking don't seem to have the problem.. or it could have something to do with the angle interactions between body and head yaw, maybe..
This doesn't happen on the menus at all, or in any other VR game..
If you push Esc and have the menu up, tracking yaw is perfect and instant, everything tracks great.. But go back into the game, and the yaw instantly gets wobbly again. And it's just yaw, the other axis still track fine, no noticeable latency on them.

It's most noticeable if you turn your head left and right, and if you compare the main menu or escape-menu to in-game, it's clearly visible. I've tried disabling/changing all sorts of VR settings, but none seem to effect it.

It's small enough of a latency lag to ignore, but it keeps me from looking around much with my head..

Ok. After several trys and operations, its working with an FTB modpack called "Infinity evolved", with the 2.2.2 rev.

The way is to get ALL FILES and FOLDERS from de Modpack root, to the roaming/.minecraft folder created by the launcher. All of them, LESS the existing.

I cleaned the entire folder of [USER]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft and make a clean installation of minecraft-forge-minecrift for achieve it.

Thank you again for all of your hard work making MinecRift happen and keeping it updated. I played with this originally with the DK1 + Hydra, but now that the consumer Rift has released I'm looking forward to coming back as soon as it's formally updated to the 1.3 SDK.

The only reason I stopped using it originally was because when I entered The End for the first time, the platform spawned entirely sealed inside of Endstone and I didn't manage to break out before the Enderdragon suddenly came flying straight through the wall into my face... Oh the horrible fright that gave me! That was the first/only time I've panicked so badly that I immediately tore the Rift off my face and put it away.

Thank you very much for the update. It all works very well so far. I only had one crash as I teleported back from the nether.
Installing was easy and exploring my worlds in VR is f***ing amazing. :D
Now I only need the Hydras back to swing my pickaxe and sword. ;)

I'm loving that you have updated Minecrift, And love using my DK2 for mc and it worked great

hence, WORKED, I have no idea why but after the second day of it installed it started having horrible flickering, I tried playing this with tekkit legends and it worked great starting out, but the next day everything flickered every few seconds and it hurts the eyes

I tried removing the mods but it still persists so I have no idea what is causing it or how I can fix it, would love some suggestions or if this is common pls fix it

I just started using this today and am pretty impressed with how many options there are. However, I was noticing some odd things with the controls. Then I realized that even with the controls set to Mouse mode, it was still interpreting controller button presses, and so conflicting with a JoyToKey profile I've got set up. I see where controls can be edited from the menus, but how do I get something to be set to "None"? The best I've been able to do so far is try to set multiple things to a single button and get a "Conflict!" message.

This post is from about a year and a half ago, but I came to ask about this too and it was the only search result found for Minecrift sprint. I notice it has no option in the VR controller settings, and the regular keyboard button doesn't seem to do anything anymore regardless of what I set it to. I know Minecrift has an analog movement option which theoretically could make a sprint button obsolete, but top analog speed definitely isn't sprint speed. Whether I have movement set to digital, analog, or tell it I'm just using Mouse mode doesn't seem to make a difference in regards to sprint functioning.

Thanks for the update, this is certainly way better than playing in the original DK1.

Yes, it seems the sprint button isn't functioning anymore, and Rift users only walk at 75% speed by default. It's an option to reduce motion-sickness, but as a consequence it makes Minecraft's terrible combat mechanics that much harder...

Seems like I'll want a mod or modpack that makes the mobs move slower (and attack slower, in the case of skeletons, creepers, and jumping spiders) too or some such. Or maybe just play on a server with friends where I can stay home doing factory stuff all the time while everyone else goes out and does all the fighting.

Can't run the R3 installer: can't download redistributables.

When I run the installer, I get an error after the second progress bar when it's trying to install visual c 2010 i think (hard to see it only flashes up for 1 frame).
I've tried reinstalling the visual studio anc visual c++ redis, 2010-2012, tried installing in forge mode with a working forge install, tried installing R1 (which works but I'm trying to use CV1 which needs r3). Redownloaded the installer, ran the installer in admin mode.
Reupdated the Java SDK and the RTE.
Is there a way to skip the redis and install manually?

Do I need to install the SDK 1.3 even though I have SDK 1.5 installed for MINECRIFT 1.7.10 R3 to work? Is it possible to install both SDKs at once without issues?

I haven't played Minecrift in about a month, but it should be fine. Things used to stop working with newer versions of the SDK, but Oculus's claim was that once things supported 1.0 they should continue to work in all future versions.

Hello,
the option "world scale" is not working (MINECRIFT 1.7.10 R3 with Rift CV1). Can i fix this anyway? Or have i to wait for a new release?
Thank you very much.

Nothing from the repository is downloading. I don't know if it's some permissions setting on Github itself or my computer. The solution for me was to go to the web page of the repository itself and download everything as a zip.

Then dump the contents of that zip into:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries

It's messy and included files I probably don't need, but it worked.

Scaling options don't seem to work here at all.

Neither do the VR Comfort modes (under Locomotion settings). I have to turn that off to turn around.
