Hey fellas,
Just been doin my demo reel as a vfx compositor and thought how good it would be to have a 3d stereo shot in there.

Soo... I managed to get a half workin result after a few days.

NEW Page Flip mode here >>> http://www.shonovfx.com/media/niasStere ... ip_Pxy.AVI (1mb - PageFlip)

I have been using the very useful features of The Foundary's 'Nuke' Compositing software which incorporates stereo comping pretty good.
This is my first time makin a Steza shot so plz tell me what yous honestly think.

The main background photo was taken by me whilst on holidays in Indonesia using a little stereo camera holder made out of toothbrush box Image

So i take 1 photo and then slide the camera to the other side. Sort of worked with steady hands

Take it easy,

Cheers

I like the movement - it's very fast. Are the persons 2D or is there just not enough seperation and so on them to notice e.g. the arms *popout* a little?

Just thought if you rendered the figures in real 3D, you (I) don't realy notice, so you could either make it a little more obvious or save some work :?

PS: I've only seen the pageflipping file and hope it's similar to the anaglyph version

hey,
the fighting actors are from a 2d greenscreen shot.
I just offset 1 eyes view to either be in negative parallax space (in screen i think) or positive parallax space (out of screen).
What did u mean when you said
rendering the figures in real 3D ???
I have a quicktime breakdown of the shot here...

I meant something like using the figures of 3D games and similar things. Those could be rendered in S-3D and then maybe placed in the shot, but it might require some professional applications/programs.

Or in other words: use 2 slightly different figures for left and right picture
