Virtual reality theatre in Swinburne University, Melbourne

Post by efendy »

Hi
I just thought I'd share my experience with people from Melbourne :)

Last Friday, I went to my university's virtual reality theatre run by astronomy department (Swinburne university in Melbourne, Australia). It was a very nice show and all the footage was made by the guys in Astronomy department). They also have an interactive system in which he can navigate through planets, stars etc. they use a passive system. after show i talked with him. he said they are gonna get an HD system and a bigger screen than the one they currently use which is huge!
The show was really good, we also watched a short animation movie made by them. I strongly suggest everybody in Melbourne to visit the theatre. I think they have another one at 10th of July.
Cheers

G'day mate :) It's very nice to meet you too. I just had a look at their web site and they have sample videos of what they have there. this is the home page of astrotour. http://vr.swin.edu.au/astrotour/
in the 3D section you can find the samples.
I didn't know that they have a dedicated web site :D
So, what kind of 3D system have you got android?
cheers
