Errrr....

To get a turn to S-3D:
I think there was some (older?) project to send two satteliets out to make S3D pictures (of planets and so on). Maybe it's a good Idea to find them and link to them?
Just thought it might fit to the topic and the forum ;-)

Yeah, I remember those pictures were really cool. From a few years back. There are some anaglyph panoramics here:

Here is a site I found with tons of recent anaglyphs and stereo pairs:

Sorry about the Total Recall reference, but this is the "Off-Topic Discussion". I was trying to keep it fun. :D

Awesome. I read/saw today they found ice on Mars. The white stuff melts when exposed to the atmosphere:

More news from NASA is due soon.

Meh! You've seen one red planet, you've seen them all... Now Neptune, that's a planet! Ever been?

Neil

The animated GIF pictures give a sense of how barren the planet is. when you think of the distance is it just me that the pictures are such a high-quality seems impressive ?

Thanks, I guess they could only be black-and-white due to the bandwidth.

The sunset shots are awesome.
Maybe they use black&white because, if you have to choose between resolution or color in that situation, resolution is the best choice.
