So, I've been slowly but surely learning more and more about VR over the past few months and, although I still consider myself an interested moron at best, one major problem that I've heard about more and more often is simulator sickness.
Specifically, I'm wondering how one might counter-act it when dealing with a virtual environment that is impossible to properly sync with reality, such as low or no gravity (space sims) or impossible physics that could cause serious environmental disconnect (Team Fortress 2 and the Portal series). Does anyone have any ideas or data on this?

Well just like sailors at sea, you can acclimate yourself to the effect somewhat. Apparently Palmer (having spent hundreds of hours in VR) has got an iron stomach when it comes to this stuff.
