I know this isn't really 3D news, but thought it cool.
When I started watching the following prometheus video, given two images that are side-by-side, naturally I assumed that it was 3D (well, it made sense to me) and crossed my eyes:

Initially, I just assumed that it must have been the modern standard of virtually not there depth 3D, but then realized that it's not actually 3D at all, but kept watching it in 3D because it was such a great experience. While I know that the majority of a regular cinema audience would just start to vomit with having information on one eye only, I do wonder if future films might be able to use something like this in a subtle way in 3D films to enhance certain aspects.
One place I thought this could be particularly effective is in the horror genre, where you could be looking through glass, and the image of whatever the scary subject is will come in on just one eye. This, in a similar way to the unnatural camera angles that are used in horror to increase unease of the viewer, could be extremely effective.
What do you guys think?
