Ah it seems like the bot-mod I looked for last Year or so :)

You did test it, right? Does it work good for Coop mode (in Lan)?

I'd like to train a little in Lan with equal enemies and a good Ping. I think I'll test it 8)

What parts do I need? The client to play it, that's clear, but do I need the server and the mappack for Lan

I played it online and single player the last 2 days. Was shot down by an AI pilot arhhhh :x
You can play 32 vs 32 with bots.

You need BF2 + patch 1.41 + the AIX client file + the 3 mappacks.
Lots of coooool airplanes like MIG's, F16, A10, Stealth fighter etc. A few onlie servers.

If You want to fly in vanilla BF2 try the Antik 4 server. Planes for everybody and ranked.
I suck at flying but it's so damn fun anyway.

Well I got it to run and found some other players to join me in LAN.
It playes quite nice, if you have more enemy bots than soldiers in your team. And it's nice to fight together against the bots 8)

I'm trying to become a better helicopter pilot, but I kill too many of my passangers right now

Well the BIG question is: what setup do you use to get rid of those nasty Shadows? They look very bad in 3D. I turned down all those dynamical shadows and dynamical light, but the basic shadows are still there.

Is there a way to get rid of them? Or do I have to use 91.31 combo? (now 94.24).

Also: when my computer is the host my FPS drop below 20 (in 2D!!!). But if someone else makes the host, it's no problem for anyone

I use 91.31 FW + 91.31 3D and these settings:

and get shadows like this:
Image
(shadows not rendered at correct depth - double)
The 3D effect is small because is destroys the aiming.

If I use 163.71 FW + 162.50 3D there's crazy shadows all over. Totally unplayable.
The 78.01 FW + 78.01 3D actually had shadows at correct depth.

The screenshot looks good, but if you look very carefully the shadow of the Tank is NOT shifted (like you said. I should learn to read more carefully :D). That is no big deal with little seperation, but with a higher seperation it is quite anoying :-(
I think my seperation is a little too crazy

I remember heavy bugs with short testing and higher driver Version, too.
So you don't know, how to disable shadows completly?

Thanks for the quick answer anyways ;-)

Do you think if we ran this game server on our site it would be popular? How full do the servers tend to be?

If You do this:
Lighting: Low
Dynamic shadows: off
Dynamic Light: off
there's no shadows.

I found 55 server, only 10 populated with around 10 ppl on average running this mod. One had 39 players though.

I'm not shure if it's a good Idea:

1) it uses a lot of power (for the server!) to calculate all the bots
2) there won't be that much people... and I like playing LAN (or at least Europe) for ping...

PS: Thanks Freke. I'll have to try it out.
