1080p60 3D Wireless Video Transmitter for ST1080 VR?

Post by Synexious »

Are there any wireless video transmitters, like the Asus WAVI and IOGEAR 3D Kit, which support 1080p in 3D at 60fps, for use in a 360 degree full-freedom VR setup with the ST1080? I know there are some that support 720p60 3D and 1080p24 3D, but I haven't seen anything about wireless 1080p60 3D.

Don't think it exist plus 3DTV Play only support 720p60hz framepack. 3D Vision 1080p 120hz only supported on dual link DVI.

That limits the usefulness of the ST1080, then. I still plan to use it as a desktop replacement, but for full-freedom VR, its full resolution won't be useable.

There's nothing I know of that supports 1080P60, not the software, not the displays, and certainly not wireless on top of all that.

Sorry.

Wait, what? How do people play in 1080p on their 3D monitors with 3D Vision, then?

Yeah, I should have mentioned I was talking about HDMI 1.4a. You can do 1080P60 3D with Dual-Link DVI and also DisplayPort. Current HDMI chipsets do not support the bandwidth for 1080P60 yet. The new chipsets are available (300MHz chips) but there are almost no devices that use these yet. The only thing I have heard is that the new 7000 series for AMD CPUs can do this, but there are still no displays that have them and I don't think any drivers have been updated yet. And CES just happened, no one announced anything. So we may be waiting until 2013 for everyone to catch up.
